Hi, can anyone tell me whether the track recordings made for squad training will work after the new patch, and if they won't, any ideas on how they can be used for training purposes after the patch?

I have no expensive software, and I am not technically minded.

I'm sure someone could make a good living transferring favourite track recordings onto some other media?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Currently, there exists no external track editing software.

The only option is to playback a track and then use some external capture software to get data from the DirectX layer. However, as DX in IL2 doesn't support minimizing, you must start the recording before starting IL2. This may consume lots of HD space, but so video editing always does.

Once the piece is captured to external software, converting it to AVI/DIVX/XVID/MPEG2 is simple.

The *.trk format will PLAY with the new patch, but the FMs are different, and you'll get screwed up results.

The *.NTRK format will just generate an error stating that it's the wrong version.

Ah well.

I've made 3 training tracks for my squad. Without being able to edit the track, you have to very creative to keep the session from being boring. Yes, I wish there was a way to do some advanced editing. Would be a nice feature.

Hmm I doubt it. Didn't Oleg just make ntrk to come against this problem?? AFAIK further FB versions will be downward-compatible in regards of ntrk. So you can play your 1.0 ntrk in 1.1 - but of course, not the other way round /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif . Who wants to play 1.1 tracks with 1.0 anyway /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .
