Yes, that's right, I know you all have been on pins and needles waiting to find out, yet finally after I was able to get a DVD player and 4.071 set up I discover....

Yep.....

No changes to the Ki-61.......*sigh*...I know all of you were really worried about that and most unable to sleep, but it looks like a person who shall remain nameless except when you hear me cursing him on line, won out...Overwhelming info or no...

Woe, is......Me....http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif.....Sorry everyone, as I know it was no doubt your biggest priority too.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Knowing that is your favorite Ride... may I give you my Deepest Sincere Sympathy.

On the Bright Side... Oleg & Team have always put in those little extra's... and there is a new patch on it's way. So there is a bit of Hope. Maybe! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Deepest sympathies. May I suggest we all take a page from the 1960s feminists and, instead of burning bras, burn our copies of 46---but only after slipping the CFS3 disk in the box.

Upgrade the Ki-61 RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

When engine damaged, it leaks oil thru the wrong place. Its design didn't allow leaking oil to SPLATCH! on the windscreen, but even so, it has one of the most annoying SPLATCH! in the game.

the oil spash on the windscreen is one of the coolest features in the game and even if the KI61 couldn't leak in that manner it should be kept just for it's cool factor http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

the first time I saw that effect I was really amazed haha.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

What`s with the `deepest sympathies` and `sincere sympathy`? talk? some of you talk like someone`s died? Ah, veiled sarcasm, maybe.

We ALL have our little foibles about `46 we don`t like, and just like you, we have to just live with it and hope one day it may change. Everyone has what they deem their most `important` issues. Yours is no more important.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well it's not just the windscreen oiling of which as I demonstrated most others would be worse.......It is also a number of other issues such as bomb racks, bomb drops, loadouts, etc. etc. that I have taken great effort & gone into great detail to supply the info for.

Yet that neither here nor there.....I just know how important this was to all of "YOU" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif...So just thought I'd let you know http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Bummer. Lots of load-outs in PF are flat out wrong. Too bad they didn't listen to you about the windscreen oiling thing....from the diagrams you posted ages ago it seems pretty unlikely that you would end up with that oiling effect IRL<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well, the MiG-15 has this armament according to Wiki:

2x 23 mm Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23KM cannons (80 rounds per gun, 160 rounds total), and 1x 37 mm NL-37D cannon (40 rounds total)

With guns that big, having them mounted in the nose like that with the swing down tray for easy servicing was a good idea, I think.

I went to visit the War Bird museum in Kissimmee, FL when I was on holiday there, got speaking to some old boy that said it was closed down but all the AC were still there privately owned. He said if you just wander over to the hangers they'll let you look over them - I got a free tour and took a load of pics but unless someone can give me a fast and easy upload site then you won't be seeing them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif so volunteers?

There were 3 P-51D's, 1 P-40, 1 Spitfire, 1 P-38L, 2 T-6 trainers (one of which you can pay to fly in) and a couple of other more modern AC. If you want to see them badly just reply begging http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well, half the joy of IL2 are the skins we dress our individual mounts with, and the KI-61 has some of the coolest skins to be found.

Feel better ?

No. Most of the actual gun parts are recessed into a small bay in the fuselage. Just the barrels stick out.

And I was browsing on Wiki, and saw this monster:

http://pics.livejournal.com/laptop_mechanic/pic/000h3753

Its a CA-27 Sabre, built by the Aussies for the RAAF. It has a RR Avon afterburning engine, and replaces the 6x.50 cal guns with 2x30mm ADEN cannons. Ouch. We needed that in '46. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The one that you describe as a polish mig-15 is actually a mig-17. The airbrakes are different, as well as the wing and the canopy.

They said it was a -15, and it looked noticably different than the green MiG-17F they had on display, so I took them at their word.
