Well I downloaded the updates yesterday and today I got around and made some screenshots for you all to drool over. As far as I'm conserned this release gave up some serious maps to use and really gives this flight sim a good breath of fresh air.

Here I am flying my beloved La-5FN like a kid in a candy store! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Wow, lovely shots. That airfield in the last pic looks so much more realistic.

I'm getting more and more tempted to d/l this beta.

Do it Endy! The new maps are just fantastic, and once the final patch is released, and the server patch, the old maps are not really going to 'cut it' online anymore.

Are the Iasi and Odessa maps derived from the larger Bessarabia map? Or are they stand-alone maps in their own right?

Yes they are.

As for the airfields, some are as you see, some are just open spaces with little else which is good in my opinion and gives the mission planers freedom to create their own.
The large airfield at Odessa is a very long, very wide flat area with plenty of buildings already there. But it's to huge you can really spend lots of time there adding whatever you wanted too.
