I agree. I have an FX5700 and the 71.20 give a large boost to FPS without harming quality. Quality is subjective but BlackDeath goes from 32 average to 36 and standard missions have elevated FPS and are smoother. Plus, I can now fly with the mirror on using patch 3.03m - stagger show before 71.20. Best nvidia drivers I've tried in a very long time. I think Oleg mentioned he and the team had been working with nvidia to enhance performance - this might be the result.

hey the 70.90`s worked for me too for the rebooting and freezing in middle of missions I`m 6800gt owner too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Got the same drivers onboard now and doing just fine but still testing. A BFG 6800GT OC owner roaming around 65.73 & 66.81 drivers the best by so far. With HQ image and Clamp Negative LOD bias almost no shimmerings http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif.Desgust your AA/AF buffet!

Tell what you guys think of the 70.22 that was just released as a beta.

Actually I´m using the Nvidia stuff not Xtreme G ones due subttle lags. Haven´t tried 71.22. MT how you would compare 71.20/71.22 ?

12-29-2004, 04:25 PM
yeah me want to know also

12-29-2004, 05:19 PM
The Extreme 71.20b is a little better than the 71.22.

Over all, you get more FPS compared to the 66.93. About a 15 FPS difference.

im glad we re exchanging opinions about them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

ok quick question. Once I get my faulty 6800GT replaced what is involved in updating the drivers. I do un-install my current 66.93 then install the new ones or just install over the top?

12-30-2004, 04:53 AM
I see it's not just us Radeon owners that constantly squabble over which drivers to use. Either way, I just love the latest drivers, they really get the best out of a 3D card, be it nVIDIA or ATi.

Uninstall your current driver at Control Panel/Add-Remove and clean the nvidia´s remains with Driver Cleaner in safe mode. After that you can install the new drivers.

Lmao lol.

I just realized that Vertical sync was some how disabled after I installed the 71.20b.

Hi guys I see very nice FPS improvment , but more stutter or is that just me ?? Gainward 6800 ULTRA

S !
The Xtreme G drivers are very nice with a superb IQ but I´ve found lags and even with Vsync app on got sliced images from cockpit and, went back to the plain nvidia´s 71.20. Doing fine. Ah, ForceShaders1x=1/Effects=0

Low end users could try them - I use the 7120s on a Ti4200. Never had such a smooth game.

I see the 71.24 drivers are out now. Anyone tried them yet, and if so, are they any good?

01-02-2005, 08:10 PM
I like 71.20 better than 71.24 . My first post was about 71.24 I wasn't happy , but I try 71.20 and I like it .
