Hey all,

I'm pretty new to this community, but it seems you all like to share stuff. So here is a little something from me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif One album is from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (more pictures coming!). The other album is from Friends and Foes over Niagara, a small airshow put on by Ed Russell featuring a genuine Spit, Hurricane and Me-109. Good times! Enjoy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Ya the Lancaster is amazing to see, and hear fly. I'd love to fly in it, but 1500.00 for a one time bomber crew position is out of my reach http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif However it flys only a half hour from me all summer long so I can just watch it cruise around. -sigh- must win the lottery....

hehehe Well yes there are tiger mots in the picture, but they are in the WAY of the Harvards http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I'll be buying a better camera (Digital SLR) so I can take some nicer pictures at this years show. If you are in driving distance, it will be well worth your time to see these planes fly.

I was standing 20 feet behind the Hurricane and Spitfire when they fired up and taxied out. Prop wash was awesome! Ed's a nice guy, however, believe it or not, he owns these 3 planes but does not hold a pilots license so he needs to hire people to fly these for him! For shame! Anyway thanks all for looking at my humble pictures http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

OK, so your telling me if I go to Canada I can see a Lancaster in person? I've done it once (long way from Texas) but my wife wants to go back again. How close is this museum to Niagara?

Thanks for the pictures!

It's interesting to see the bright rivet heads being exposed even on a very well restored plane (taking mental note for skinning).

TAW_Oilburner, The Canadian Heritage Warplane Museum is aproximately 45 minutes from Niagara Falls and has the second of only 2 flying Lanc's left on mother earth . The Lanc doesn't fly year round as they use the ugly winters here to do maintenance. However, apart from its few airshow appearances, it has a regular summer schedule at the Hamilton airport (where the museum is) for members flights. Check out the Museum website at:

www.warplane.ca (http://www.warplane.ca)

Somewhere buried on that site is the flight schedule, should they have it prepped for this year. I'm actually heading up there in the next couple of weeks... I'm hooked in that place. If you are planning a vacation, plan for mid June, then you can also attended Ed Russel's airshow in Niagara Falls, and see his Spitfire, Hurricane and Me-109 perofrm mock dogfights http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Rumor has it the Lancaster will make an appearance this year for a Canadian version of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. I'll post more on this as news breaks.
