Hello everyone, I am pleased to let you all know that Mission Mate version 3.0 is now available for download at mission4today.com (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=8) . This release features the work of my French co-producer who has provided all the new airbase object design and also the new "Aircraft selector" tool available with this release. Very nice work as I'm sure you will all agree!

New In This Version (3.0):

This version introduces 8 new maps for Mission Mate and also a new feature "Aircraft Selector" that allows the user to select aircraft in a number of different ways by user preference of aircraft parameters with a series of defined filters.

New Maps:

Burma
Desert Online
Italy (Fiction)
Kiev
Manchuria
Murmansk (Winter & Summer)
Norway
Singapore

New Feature: "Aircraft Selector Tool"

This new window introduces an interface where the user can filter aircraft lists for selection by a number of different options. You may wish for example to select aircraft that were in service between certain years, or perhaps you are after aircraft produced by a certain nation. Filtering options allow selection by the following choices:

Before Year
After Year
Nation
Flyable
Fighter
Jet
Bomber
Reconnaissance
Seaplane
Naval
Transport

Any combination of these filters may be used at one time. This new interface also interacts with "Hardball's Aircraft Viewer" to further inform the user about the selected aircrafts capabilities.

Also a variety of bug fixes.

As always, I hope you enjoy this latest release.

Cheers and best regards,
CrazySchmidt. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thank you for developing and giving away for free this wonderful program.

After close to six years I can't stand the Smolensk and Crimea map anymore http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Actually I think something like this should have been integrated into Il2 long ago.

Many average users don't want to play with the FMB (though its fun from time to time) and never experience the newer maps.

Should be in Olegs interest too, What better way to show the diversity of this epic flight sim to the user?

Had one slight problem with one of the maps. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

After landing back at base {using the Gulf of Finland map}. My groups aircraft started crashing into the static aircraft on the base.

Granted it made more room for the other aircraft landing! LoL

But just wanted to give you a yell in case you make another change on your program.

Mint Work other wise! Again Thank's http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Hi mate, to be honest with you I haven't put a lot of energy into worrying about that aspect of static objects at airbases. The reason for this is, it would mean that I would need to leave clear almost all designated parking areas of an airbase because the AI do not have the intelligence to move around static objects of this nature. With this in mind the placement of static aircraft and vehicles have been based more on ground/airbase attack scenarios rather than considering how aircraft returning from a mission may navigate obstacles.

A compromise perhaps, but I believe the correct one with all things considered.

CrazySchmidt... Thank's for the reply.

Quote... Hi mate, to be honest with you I haven't put a lot of energy into worrying about that aspect of static objects at airbases.

No Big problem... it's not many times I get to fly back to base after a mission anyway.

And making a safe landing is another long story altogether. LoL

Again Thank's for taking the time to reply.

strange... I'm still loving the program though... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

One more thing.. this installs to a seperate folder.. so basically I can delete the last two versions on my HD correct?

Bearcat, that is weird. I have just tested the installation both for 96 DPI and 120 DPI, both work fine. I have also checked the MM installation map folder and all the correct maps are there, the code checks out good also.

Are you running 120 DPI? and is the map file actually there?

Yep, you can delete previous version MM folders without a problem.

I don't know if I am running at 120 dpi or not.. I seem to recall something about that.. but I don't remember where to check it but the map is there. Actually none of the maps work.. they all give me the same message. Apparently I was using 2.7 before.. and did nt realize it.. so v3 doesnt work for me at all.

OK I got it working.... I uninstalled it... redownloaded it.. since I uninstalled & reinstalled twice already with the same results.. this time I saw the add 120 dpi support files so I checked that... and it went in. I am not sure if that was it or not.. I also noticed that I may have directed it to the wrong path... but the bottom line is .. it works now..... and I am http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif
