RAYBANJOCKY
(With apologies to Lewis Carroll)

`Twas winter, and the pancake-trees
Did float and hover o'er the snow;
All silent were the Yak-1b's
At Red's home base below.

"Beware the Raybanjock, White 1!
The trim that slides, the guns that spew!
Beware the Unibrow, and shun
The Wonder Woman view!"

He took his throttle and stick in hand:
Long time the Ace of Boast he sought --
It seemed his foe was a no-show;
His flight would be for naught.

And, as in zoomed-out view he flew,
The Raybanjock, with brow of flame,
Came trimming through the puffy cloud,
Bat-turning as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The flashing ShVAK went snicker-snack!
He shot the Ace right in the face
And promptly saved the track.

"And, hast thou slain the Raybanjock?
Come in to land, the strip is clear!
The bells will surely ring all night
From Leningrad to here!"

`Twas winter, and the pancake-trees
Did float and hover o'er the snow;
All silent were the Yak-1b's
At Red's home base below.

---
There are 10 kinds of people in this world: those who can count in binary, and those who can't.
(If I knew who said that first, I'd give credit here.)

HL callsign: Ctrl_Eeee, the guy you just shot down

Hardy Har Har.

- There are 10 kinds of people in this world: those
- who can count in binary, and those who can't.
- (If I knew who said that first, I'd give credit
- here.)

If I know who said that, I would ask him what the other 8 types are.

True on both counts. I've seen RBJ called every name in the book. Yet, with this little bit of fun on him, all he says is "Hardy Har Har!" Like him or not, the dude is a gentleman (of sorts).

DrDave242;

Excellent parody! It had just the right cantor for the most part.

RBJ;

Excellent sense of humour. You took that quite well. This is the RBJ others have said you were like more often in the past. Welcome back?

P.S. Your response to the "10 people..." quote was quite funny. You were joking, right? Of course you were.

Are we seeing a transition in RBJ?

He seems more human now, somehow.

I wonder if ther are other RBJs out in other forums. Is there a small tribe of these wandering, uni-browed, wunders, enlightening the world?

This forum and our interaction with RBJ has taken on a whole new dimension now. We've gone from retentive to poetic.

PS, anyone care to start up and angry mob to go rabble on about the beta testers???

No, forget I said anything.....

Since you decided to share a poem, I will share a short story of FB and the legendary "RBJ Maneuver".

One day I was cruising through the galaxy in my tried and true spacecraft, the Trimrunner, enjoying IL2 and roxxoring newbs, when Oleg appeared 90m miles away in his Federation Battleship and attacked my trim mechanism with his secret, remote access trim tweaker. He thought if he could put enough distance between me, and max trim that he, and the rest of the galaxy would be safe. He was wrong. His starship was quite advanced, but I was aware it had no force-feedback or joystick calibration detectors. Realizing that I was under attack, I told my mechanic to stiffen the front spring and tie a knot in the elevator cable to shorten its travel. Knowing that the time it would take light was 30 seconds to reach Oleg, I instructed Sulu to head at light speed at Oleg and attack. "That would be suicide!" Sulu exclaimed, since one can only travel at light speed with a level trimmed plane, and coming out of light speed to attack with only level trim would be certain death. I told Sulu to obey orders and ask questions later. "Aye Aye, captain." As we sped towards Oleg, Oleg scoffed at the notion that a cropduster from Indiana, coming out of light speed with level trim could possibly be a threat. So convinced was he, that he dropped his sheilds in order to take a picture of this great moment, "The day the trimwhiners died" he thought. All the sudden, Captain RBJ appeared out of light speed and did crazy loop around his backside, and unleashed the photon torpedos! Like a man who was counting bullets but had never seen a 7 shot revolver, Oleg was only able to take a picture of his ship blowing up, just before he managed to escape in his escape pod. It is one of the greatest stories of all time and to this day is required reading for all aspiring aces.

People take Ray way too seriously sometimes. If he were to leave the forum or get banned I would never be back here. He is so tongue in cheek that he needs another tongue for the other cheek.

Am in awe of the JabberWocky poem.

There once was a kid called RBJ
Who's flying was so feared it scared Aces away.
Trim up, trim down, trim left, trim right
No wonder he couldn't find anyone to fight.

Anyone remember one of RBJs first posts, the one about being a dog with a cone over your head or something? Also was the first post where we got to see the "wank off" sig of RBJ. Good stuff. There is still life here after all.
