I cant remember the designation but is anyone doing the mig that the Soviets developed in the late 40s? That would be a sweet addition indeed to the P-80.

MiG-9 and I-270, both developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich. The Yak-15, Yak-17 and Yak-19. All developed in 46-47.

The Yak-15 would be the easiest in terms of modeling, sharing much of the Yak piston birds.

Would be nice to see a P-51H and Yak-9, with a twist of La-9, for some early Korean dancing (and of course a late mod. Corsair to finish the touch, well...we'd need a Sea Fury for that...oh boy...)

Coming to think of it, a Korean spin off would be reasonably doable, maybe Oleg is willing to licence his (now old - see BoB) engine.

Not that the Yak-15 or MiG-9 have anything to do with Korea, but one thing led to another. But I would value a follow up to MiG Alley more than a bunch of loosely modeled 1946 and 1945 project/prototype planes.

Korea is definable.
In terms of campaign
In terms of terrain
In terms of aircraft

etc etc etc

It is a real war...

one that is well suited to the IL2/FB engine, well come to think of it, since the jet fighting is mostly athigh alt, maybe the engine isn't as suited as I imagined.

never mind, 8:48 AM, free day, brain needs a reboot...

dont get me started on how awesome a Maddox Korean sim would be

the best propeller fighters ever

it would be the ultimate prop combat sim ever

but instead we go to the slow 1940 planes over england ..... not complaining cause ill be the first BoB pre-order in my country http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

Don't limit yourself to Korea. A Maddox cannon-only jet sim, going to 1960 at least. Hawker Hunter? Folland Gnat? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Saab J~21, Mystere

I remember seeing a show about the states being "lended" a boxed and brand new russian jet back in the late forties or early fifties..

They assembled it, tested it, reboxed it and sent it back to whomever they borrowed it from. All without the russians knowing it had ever been unpacked.

I forget what kind of plane it was, looked kind of like the Yak. Was an interesting story though.

They concluded that the aircraft "could be expected to defend itself" and considered it a capable fighter thought not as exotic as the Mig-15. I think this was before they got their hands on that aircraft during the Korean war. Unfortunatly I haven't seen the show since and don't remember much about it. I always thought it was an early Sukhoi of some kind, but seeing pictures of the Yak-15 brought back memories of it.

It would be just so awsome to have korea addon, why are there so many addons being developed on already well covered subjects if there is Korea.

Yeah, a Korea war sim would be awesome!
BUT... for FB, I rather stay with WWII planes. There are still many planes that had major roles in the war and that are not modeled (not even as AI). Not only japanese and american planes, but italian, french, etc.etc. I rather see more effort modelling those planes that getting some late 40's non-WWII planes.

Hehe, very unfunny. We want korean scenario with graphics of Il2, with flyable migs and ww2 planes.

OMG if you don't want it just don't support it, why are you making big deal out of it and I bet you'd buy if it ever came out.

"but i think this plane should be better in sfp1 than in il2fb "

I'd like to see sfp1 do it as well - well, sfp1 needs a major patch.

So, Il2 is much better than sfp1 in it's current state - and I trust Oleg's team could make a great jet sim from the mig alley era.

AFAIK, the soviet jet borrowed by US intelligence was a Yak-23.
