1C doesn't get every dollar from game sales. Sending $$ might be more effective.

Then on the second day, it was made bug free, and He saw that it was good.

If 1C were listed on the market (is it?) you could buy shares - that would possibly be more effective support than a donation.

Who you guys call incompetent?

Find a better coded sim, then talk. Code is not data.

If money guaranteed btter programmers then Micro$oft wouldn't be selling the buggy, mediocre crap they put out. Or maybe that's howcome Gates is so rich, he DON'T pay enough.

Donations to 1C might buy them nice lunches, free caffiene drinks and the like to make life at work better maybe. Perhaps to send presents or gift certificates to Moscow stores (can you get those?). Are Levis still highly regarded? My nephew was an exchange student before the change and the things he got offered for blue jeans... whoooo! Maybe now french Jeans would be better there?

Oleg! Is it still okay to send music CD's? I lost the address though....

Where the hell do you lot get off lecturing this guy on what to do with his money? You flaming hypocrites!

You spend time on internet message boards. You could be doing odd jobs in that time to earn that extra little bit of money to send to the third world. You could be sending the money you spend on your computer and software out there. Yet when someone expresses a desire to send a donation to support an enterprise he wants to support, you have the incredible impertinence to dare to get up in arms about it! Pharisees, hypocrites. Take the sodding forest out of your own eyes before getting het up about his behaviour.

His money is his own. To do with as he wishes. To spend on what he wishes, to give to whom he wishes. None, and I mean NONE, of your business. For all you know he already spends half his days working for a charity, sends half his money to help the poor. But here's the thing - it's none of your business or mine whether he does or does not. Earn your own money, then you can control what to do with it.

If you think the poor need help, set an example by leaving this forum and go work for them for the rest of your life.

I'm not saying to nobody how spend their money or what to do with their lives. But this man put here, in a public forum his intention to donate money to Oleg (lol, it sounds so stupid). I only think there are people that need it much more. I prefer, if people donate, that the receiver really needs it. Now spend the money as you like.
Do you understand, Oleg's fanatics flatterers?
And you are right, maybe I sure can do much more for the third world, but when I give money, is for people than needs it.

And of course, I'll buy Madox products like I did before if I like them like before.

Unlike what so many have come to believe (including the Dixie Chicks and some portions of Hollywood), freedom of thought and action does not require or imply freedom from criticism by other private parties of those thoughts or actions. The poster has the right to do with his money what he wants, but by announcing his intentions on a public forum, he has given others the legitimate opportunity to advise or critique his decision (as much as forum rules permit). Furthermore, in this particular case, his desire to donate money to a viable, profit-producing business is so contrary to the principles of free enterprise, and so completely out of touch with common sense and morality that it invites, even begs for, negative comments and ridicule.

Dude, clearly the intent was to persuade them to develop a feature desired by the original. That was so blatantly obvious I can't believe anyone could have missed it.

Still, telling someone else what they should do with their money bites the green one.

Perhaps "donate" was the wrong word.

I don't mean to imply that Maddox Games is seeking charity or needs money.

I guess I'm merely wishing to put MY cash (not yours, thanks, mine, since I make it, I can spend it) where my mouth is.

Meaning, if I want to see something of value and APPROPRIATE added to Forgotten Battles (nothing to do with Flight Models, or damage models, or ANYTHING) -- like a dedicated server or some game setting OPTIONS for coop, etc., then I'm willing to pay for that consideration.

Main Entry: donation
Pronunciation: dO-'nA-shun
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English donatyowne, from Latin donation-, donatio, from donare to present, from donum gift; akin to Latin dare to give -- more at DATE
Date: 15th century
: the act or an instance of donating : as a : the making of a gift especially to a charity or public institution b : a free contribution : GIFT

At any rate, think of it as a campaign contribution moreso than a donation. Perhaps I just used the wrong word. Oh well. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I'm thinking of shipping a bottle or two of nice wine to the 1C:Maddox office (address on their website) once the patch is released as an additional "thank you" for the zillion hours of enjoyment I've gained from both IL-2 and IL-2:FB.

I'm with you, brother, in your support of the great programmers and developers of this premier flight sim.

And Gibbage, get thee a website and a PayPal membership. I think you'd be pleasantly pleased at the response.

Your contributions to the sim and the community have been outstanding in every way, and all the gripes are just jealousy over your talents!
