This may enable some variation for a late european map.

"In 1943, when French North Africa joined the allied nations, the 3FB and the 4FB squadrons were created and equipped with SBDs (a total of thirty-two examples). Those units were operational in September 1944. They were moved to Cognac, they carried on missions over South-West of France at the end of the WWII against last German bastions."

They also had Spit Marks 5 and 9 aswell.

A model of a Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX fighter plane wearing the colours of the French air force after the FAFL and the Vichy French air force units in North Africa were merged in January 1943 and re-equipped with Allied aircraft. GC 2/7 €œNice€ (also known as No.326 Squadron of the RAF) was equipped with the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb and Mk.IX aircraft during the two remaining years of the war in Europe. It was the first French air force squadron to be based, firstly, on a liberated French dependency (Corsica) and then in metropolitan France itself as the Germans retreated. (Model by William Alcott [2])

Dont forget Operation Torch, SBD-3's and -4 were used IIRC. Btw ive read that the british thought the french would be more reluctant to attack U.S forces, so apparantly they used the 'oversized' american stars too on their planes.
