Hi all,

Is it possible to buy the orig.map from the producers of Silent Hunter III???

I would think not. I'm wondering if the version you bought was a pirated version, seeing as it did not come with a map.

Well my nabour also bought it from a big local shop here that sells games, dvd's etc. but it's rather strange if its a pirate version.
So then I guess it is impossible to get the map except from buying a new one??

You can find the map in pdf format on your SH-3 disc.

You just need to print it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I would say it's a returned copy that someone couldn't get to work on their pc. And, they didn't put the map back in.... Take it back for another and open the next one in the store to make sure everything is in the case. Map, booklet and key card should be inside, along with the DVD disc and Install Key Code. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

So, in other words, they resell a game that has been returned? I've never seen that happen. Not saying I don't believe you, just that I've never seen a previously opened game for sale. I suppose this could happen in a used-game store.

also remember that some people may be getting the game from Direct2Drive.com, in which case they would not be getting the map, but did honestly purchase this game.

Over here in Belgium, every store that sells games (or DVD's) puts the empty boxes up on the shelves. When you go to the register to pay, they put in the CD(-ROM)'s, DVD's and manual, maps, etc.

This way, shoplifters can't steal more than the case.

However, it's possible that way that the clerk forgot to put in a manual or - even worse, as I once found out - one of the CD's!
It's easily solved by going back and complaining, ofcourse http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It's in your Program Files/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 3/Data/Documentation folder.

It's called 'SH3_MAP' and is 991kb in size.

Just print it out, if you had the original your dog would have eaten it by now or you would've spilled coffee or beer on it like I did..DOH! and had to print one out anyway.
