Yes it is, second only to ATi. Actually, as good as some of the cards sold as "built by ATi" are actually built by Sapphire. I've had two of them and they've both served me very well.

Which model are you interested in?

I have had two 9800pros. One ATI and one Sapphire. The ATI I broke a piece off of http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif while installing a cooler. So I bought another which was Sapphire for about 200 dollars at www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com). They run exactly the same. Sapphire does however make modded versions of ATI cards. I really wish I would have just bought another Nvidia card though. If not for the fact that I just purchased a new Artic cooler for the 9800Pro I would have.

Be sure if you purchase Sapphire 9800Pro 128MB you get the version with 256bit memory not 128Bit.

Thanks guys ! Actually I´m considering a X800 XT PE. I have a nice BFG 6800 GT OC and it had an overall improvement of 10 fps over my former MSI FX 5950 however in a very busy situation FPS can drop to 12 frames and happen that nearly slide show. What about the new X850 XT ? Much better or just a very small improvement ?

Hmm, are you sure you have done nothing wrong?
Because this is not what it should be.

I mean regarding your 6800 OC.

I have an MSI FX5950 Ultra and I have @ 1600 X 1200 and everything @ highest 32 FPS average.

Actually 12 fps min. in Perfect Mode with an average of 38/39 fps. in busy situations worse than Black Death trk. In Excellent min.25/avg.52/max.75 . I have a LCD monitor and it goes only to 75Hz and when flying I use 1152/864. Overall I´m happy with this GT OC but reminds me the FX5950 with high/low extremes and from what I´ve heard of ATI users they got a better balance in between. Ah ! I have cheap RAM perhaps is that.

I had a Saphire 9800 pro... burned... it got so hot the fittings of the fan melted and ruined not only my GPU but also my Motherboard. Never ATI again..... went for Nvidea 6800 GT and will never look back. Sure the quality of the graphics were excellent, but in comparison the fan sound was a LOT higher in the Saphire 9800 than in the Nvidia and the temperature way off.

I have the Sapphire 9800 Pro and no big problems. Runs great.

The only issue is that it wouldn't run with a new Catylst release (4.13 iirc) and I haven't moved up to 5.2 to see if the issue was resolved.

Hmm, well before you buy another card make sure it isn't your pc.

The 6800GT OC is a good card and should definetly do well.

Or your wallet should be as thick as Mr Churchill http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
