View Full Version : Bloody Feather

At the end of the new trailer "Altair Was Here", a bloody feather falls from the ceiling. In an earlier video, I remember Jade Raymond saying that the way Altair proved that he killed his target was by dipping a feather in the dead persons blood. Now how could Altair dip the feather in that guys blood without anyone seeing him? I can understand how he threw the knife from a distance without being seen, but getting that close in white robes and swiping a feather across the blood on the man's back(which in the video is missing; the guy had no blood on his back), seems a tad bit unrealistic, and this game is going for realism. But really, how did he do that?

maybe he did it just to put fear into the knights.. had a bloody feather to begin with.. kinda like a trademark..I dont think that guy was a real target.. considering the leader of the group of men was sitting across from him

If it was a pre-bloodied feather, wouldn't the blood have been darker? Since blood kind of dries after a while... unless he rubbed it on someone he killed on the way in...

thats why he got stripped of his master assassin title, he dropped the feather http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if that guy was your first mission, that failed. He just lost his only prove that he killed that guy, so I'd be mad if I was his master http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Hmm, makes sense... since there's ten people, kill one, drop the feather, get striped of you're title, and there's only nine guys left, the amount of targets in the game...

i don't think one of those guys were Talal and he's one of the targets.

i think that assassination will happen a bit further on in the game, after you have killed all the men oif the crusades you have to take on the knights templar or soemthing. I bet he could have splinter celled the guy and snuck right up to him and stabbed him. the knife was a bit deep to say it had been thrown really.

I don't think you quite get the point of a cinematic trailer. They rarely take place within the same rules that apply to the actual game.

Take the first pre-rendered trailer for example: Do you remember when the bell rang and Altair disappeared in about .031 seconds? I don't think that could be called "realistic" either. Cinematic trailers are meant to capture your imagination and look impressive, usually more so than the actual game.

Or, heaven forbid, it could be that Altair is just that good. (Of course there's no blood on his back, he wiped it up with the feather. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Either way, you didn't really think this through. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I think these guys (or the guy in your first mission) isn't related to the other 9. You just mess up an assassination and you have to kill a bunch of other guys to get back your title. Pretty stupid if you would just had to continue killing the rest...

And, AoKH_newIdea, wouldn't it be really cool if this was the first mission? I really wouldn't be surprised if Ubi would do such a thing, they've done some other things already that you've never seen before http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

well, to tell all of you the truth, as interesting as the trailer seems, and as close as it seems to be related to the story of Assassin's Creed, i highly doubt that this trailer has anything to do with the actual game...

i think that this is just another promotional trailer, nothing in it really delves into the story behind AC.

maybe just a hint here and a clue there, but nothing to be taken into account as the story of AC.

the feather being dropped, and how he did it. these are all irrelevant to the point of the trailer. my guess is that this was just made to make you interested in Altair and his mission, his way of doing things, and "the mystery of the feather"...

so, i'm trying to say that this trailer is not really meant to be thought about so much, just a "Awesome!!!", or a "cool!!!", nothing else...

my crazy theories are appearing again... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

well he most likly either jumped on the bell or jumped off the bell tower =P.

But yea agreed the trailers aren't goin to be anything like the game, i think thats why ubi took out the crossbow because you have to go and get some of the guys blood on a feather. and it would be near impossible if you shot him with a bolt and then had to run up and collect the blood.

You're all assuming Alta´r dropped the feather here - you're assuming wrong. On his way out, he decided to shoot a bird just for kicks (that's why you hear a bird scream!), and a bloodied feather fell inside a window purely by accident.

LMAO! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif That's a pretty good theory actually http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif. Except he can't 'shoot' unless he has a crossbow http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif The feather at the end is probably just to make those knights feel like there really was an ''angel of death'' that just left the place.
