Check this out, Ubi had someone at the Apple iPod event earlier today and they were talking about assassin's creed on stage. Its a bit light on details but here is a link.

I suspect that if someone tried to run Assassin's Creed on the iPhone OS, your iWhateveryouhave would melt in your hands before you can say "Lie down, Mr. Miles." I can't imagine it would be able to handle benchmarks.

... obviously its a version designed for the phone.

I cant tell if you guys are trolling or just stupid.

There's already an Assassin's Creed for the iPhone OS. It's called Altair's Chronicles. No one is gonna design a version for the iPhone. That would take a ridiculous amount of work, and they wouldn't be able to get paid for it or there'd be hell to pay with Ubi's lawyers.

I like Apple. I have a Macbook and it's awesome. But it's not a gaming machine by any stretch, so the iPhone DEFINITELY wouldn't handle it (I have an iTouch, and it can get hot just doing too many simple tasks). So mine isn't a vendetta like Jaridz :P
Anyway, desktop Macs are great for gaming, if you use the dual-boot with Windows (since that's what most games are coded for).

they were just showing the first one, that is not AC2.

I dunno, in the screenshot the HUD looks like AC2, and the article says it was a demo of AC2.

It's probably just a side scroller action game.

Maybe bloodlines? MAYbe?

Found another article, the iPhone version is called Assassin's Creed 2: Discovery, no info about the gameplay, but you do play as Ezio.

Also updated the thread subject to reflect this

OHHHHHH! So it IS another side-game. I thought people were implying that the actual game Assassin's Creed was on the iPhone lol.
Yeah, we've heard about Discovery...not much about it though.

yeah no... its definitely designed for the phone platform.

It looks like its made by the same people that did Altair Chronicles... so it might not be so good. Not that I have an iPhone to play it on even if I wanted to.

Found a video showing the game:
http://events.apple.com.edgesu...sdv/event/index.html (http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0909oijasdv/event/index.html)

Skip to around 36 minutes into it for the game demo.

I'll get it, inevitably.

I hated Chronicles.

But... when I see it there...

...So conveniently...

...available...

A Mac IS a computer. And it's designed for design and image editing, not music. iPhone isn't designed for music either, although I've seen non-apple MP3 players which aren't as good at playing or storing MP3s as iPhones are... But that's beside the point.

The point is, there's another other AC2 edition coming for yet another platform. Which, unfortnately, doesn't interest me as much as pointing out the flaws in your argument, so I'm not saying much on-topic beyond "I'm still sticking to PSP Bloodlines and my Black Edition AC2 on PS3."

No its actually AC2 designed for the Ipod and Iphone. At the beggining you see it saying ezio.

Oh, yes, and none of the new releases could possibly have anything to do with Ezio except for AC2... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif
If Altair's Chronicles was about Altair, then Discovery may very well be about Ezio. Also, Bloodlines is being billed as "spanning the gap between Altair, Ezio, and Desmond", whatever that means.
But don't say it HAS to be AC2 because it includes AC2's main character...that's just silly. Ezio is gonna be in other games in the franchise, too.

Seriously, this is getting silly. It's almost half a month since it was supposed to be released and it's nowhere to be found in the App Store. Anyone have news on this?

I'd like to know the same. It was supposed to come out on the same day as the console versions and then I heard 11/30. Ubisoft how about an update. People obviously want to buy this. And I'm almost finished with the first one on my iPhone and want to play the next.
