So what about the investigation? Have the police found them?

11-24-2005, 11:58 AM
No http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif The UK police wouldn't be able to find their police dog if it wasn't on the end of its lead.................. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

OoooH would I like to meet the person that did this.... But it looks like it will be rebuilt to fly, that makes me happy, I have spent many a late night pouring my heart and soul into getting it ready for the coming day...........

good luck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Really sorry to see this, Taylor. I was hoping you would get to keep your plane and fly it again. I can't imagine why anyone would have done this. I know it's like losing a good friend. My dad lost his medical about twelve years ago and had to sell his V35B. He still misses it, and I do as well. I haven't been off the ground since.

Are you going to be able to replace it?

11-24-2005, 04:17 PM
sorry for your loss, ignorant people suck

What exactly happened?? I see no explaination in this thread as to what this is all about?!?!
Did someone steal parts from a personal aircraft?

TT got his plane vandalized by a lot of hooligans.

Sorry to see m8! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif..anything in the pipeline,insurance??...new toy??

11-24-2005, 05:54 PM
mortoma Some lowlife broke into the hangar about 2 months ago and took an axe to her and stole the avionics, those thy couldnt get out they smashed up and slashed the seats too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif, she was only 6 years old and we had had her from new.. I used to float round it touching every little paint chip and screw head in with paint and considering we put over 3,000 hours on her she was in lovely condition, she was growing old with me gracefully http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

we will look for a replacement next year as the winter is a quiet period, The one thing that makes me feel better is the fact she may well fly again....... It would have been soo sad to see her life cut short and her being chopped up to transport her away...... at least there is a hope she will fly again. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

TT, when something bad happens to me, I try to look for a way to make it positive. I don't know your $ situation but there may be other opportunities for you.

I'm sure, you must have been dreaming of another plane but since you had this one you were limited. We are rarely 100% satisfied with what we have. Maybe your limits have changed now.

IIRC, you're an aviation mechanic and know something about restoration. If so, you have a lot of possibilities.

BTW, it doesn't have to be a Spit or a 109 to be special.

11-24-2005, 05:59 PM
I wouldn't wish a Spit on anyone........ I have worked on them in the past and help out with the odd bit now still................ But we will get something else I hope, I would like another 172 as I got to know them well, not an EFIS one though, as I believe they are no good in a training environment , have one instrument go and you are stuffed as the whole panel has to come out, analogue is a different ball game as you can often fly with one instrument down..

Ohh and i'm and fully qualified licensed Engineer.......... hell of a lot more training......... years in the classrooms doing theory and practical....... mechanics are something else...........

as you can see even though she was down i took the best part of a day speed taping everything up that was punctured so she was water tight so as to protect here from any more damage due to the weather etc..... she deserved that .......

11-24-2005, 06:38 PM
That's such a shame. Here's to better times ahead for you.

The bastards http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Sorry about the bad news T_T http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Sorry there was no resolution..... The bastages.

11-24-2005, 06:53 PM
Man what a bunch of scum. I would like to catch the sh-tbags who did that, they would be alot worse off than that sweet little plane. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

11-24-2005, 07:09 PM
That really is a sad sight, sorry for ya bud. Anybody who'd do that is not worth get angry at. Hope you get some wings again soon.

11-24-2005, 07:52 PM
It looks personal. I'd be after two people, both with some knowledge of aviation. One hates you enough to do a thorough job with the axe. The other is an opportunist along for the ride. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Hope you catch them soon though.

11-24-2005, 09:37 PM
Tony, sorry to hear of this vandalism. My best to you in getting going again, Sir.

11-25-2005, 12:56 AM
TT, most of my time was on an old 172 with floats (CF-RQJ). Not as young and pretty as yours was though. Heartfelt condolensces and hope to see pictures of your new bird someday.

Loved the wheezing sound of that starter on the old 172 and the way she used to shake her nose a bit when she coughed to life. Good on ya m8.

11-25-2005, 06:41 AM
Geezus, sorry to see this Tony. It p$sses me off to see stupid things like this. Hopefully the punks who did it get theirs and they require some speed taping on their own bodies. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
