View Full Version : Will guards in AC:R be harder?

The guards in AC:Brotherhood were wayyyyy to easy. So easy to the point where they literally lifted their arms up for me in a kill streak lol.

I was wondering if they'll be harder to kill like in AC1 even with a kill streak?

if i had to take a guess i would say yes

to me ACB seem more like a testing place for the feature we will have in ACR. ubi put in a whole load of new feature and some while still cool didn't seem quite done

if you recall borgia captains could resist streaks and counter kills
so a way of making the game harder was there but not all the time

so im thinking that more enemy types will be able to resist streaks and stuff like that

but we cant no until its release

I'm not trying to be rude but there are a lot of threads about this and there's no need to create another, you should continue posting on the thread "Brotherhood guards don't know what to do." if you want to continue to discuss about this.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Watch the Q&A with Gabe where this is the question asked. He says a lot of words but if you weed through the BS the answer is no. Oh and listen to dxsxhxcx.

ya they really shouldn't even bother answering question like that

Actually they really should just not bother answering any at all. They always pick questions to which we already know the answers or ones which we don't care about the answers.

Example: Will Altair be in Revelations?

Most people aren't us.

It's not exactly that poor. People want the videos, and answering known questions is the thing that ALL developers do. They do it to hide their game's secrets, which is completely plausible to me.

They need to get some publicity out, Q&A's are a useful way to do it, even if they are known to the hardcore fan-base.

Most players thought that Ezio and Altiar were related even months after they officially announced it, that's why they had a Q&A about it. The questions about combat, the hook-blade, etc. were obviously there to sate the common viewer, while they get ready to pull out the real meat. The Eagle Vision Q&A should be coming soon, and I want to know all about it.

they do have to try and make the game sound interesting to as many people as possible

but some new info to us, the fans, would be interesting to others as well

We aren't just fans dude.. most of us are hardcore. I know a ton of fans of Assassin's Creed. Almost none of them actually go on forums dedicated to it's discussion.

Your defense of their question choices is still quite foolish in my opinion. You do realise that most if not all the information we forumers get is not from the forums right? Mostly it comes from other sources like facebook, youtube, trailers, and game conventions. The same sources all non-forumers use to get their information. So in fact, your argument has no validity. They only need to answer each question once. Answering the same question 10 times serves no purpose.

It actually does serve a purpose. It serves the purpose of answering the questions that the people have that don't go on a bunch of sites for their news on games.

Quite frankly, developers have been doing this for years, and it's not going to stop. Your offensive side to this is something I see as quite foolish as well.

Let's be fools together! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My offensive side? Do explain.

Also I don't care what developers have been doing for years, what relevance does that have. If everyone jumped off a bridge...

Yeah I guess it does serve a purpose, it encourages laziness http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

in general ubi hasn't released as much info on ACR as they did with ACB by this point

Well at this point I guess I couldn't care less about the Q&As because, at this point, Jexx is right about one thing, it's not going to change. What I really can't wait for are more kick *** dev diaries, those were awesome.

I think most of that or all of it really depends on the subject of the game. It is not like AC:B, in which most of us knew what it was about and the general idea of building the guild. Brotherhood had one huge shock at the end like usual however, this game will have multiple throughout. With three main characters intertwined it is hard to release a lot of information. If they do, they might ruin a lot of the game for all of us. We are disappointed right now but in my opinion it would be much much worse if they gave us too much info and spoiled the whole game. While I would like more info about the plot and more gameplay videos I understand UbiSoft's reasoning behind it.

Mt fav QA question was "Why does Ezio have hook?"

And if you look at Gabe's face, you can tell he was thinking "WTFreak did he just ask?" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

As to the guards

If I don't feel like fhigting I see myself doing this:

throw smoke bomb, throw explosive bomb, run, next memory chapter lol

I like the way you think http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif but this actually shows how easy ACR will be. Also you can alway pull BAM and your assassin recruits will take out guards and ACR they'll be more lethal cause they have bombs too.

Except of course that is about Brotherhood guards and this is about Revelations guards. Talking about Revelations in there would be going off topic.

I'd be happy if
a) there were more guards
b) random regenerating patrols
c) no type casts (Brutes, agiles, etc) but varying levels of difficulty
d) random attacks or counters

Pretty much just like AC1. ACB made me bored with killing them all in a few seconds, having no more guards respawn, and killing each class with the exact same method every single time.

@Naran: they actually have released allot of info about the game. It's like, we know like most of the overarching story, just not the smaller in game things.

i meant more towards gameplay then story

i would personally not want to here any more of the story

we've seen bombs and the hook blade but there must be more stuff then just those two things

lol wow. This whole topic has been changed hahaha.

And I didn't read every single comment but excuse me if I'm off topic on this. Assassin's Creed doesn't make me lazy. In fact, it's what inspired me to do parkour :P

That's what I meant, lol. I don't want to know more about the story, just the things like the towers, side missions that make use of assassins and maybe a bit more on the characters.
