Here is the method for reaching the Pe-2 download:

1. Go the UBI shop main site: http://shop.ubi.com/default.asp

2. Choose your language from the three flags at the bottom left; English, German or French are available.

3. Enter "Pe-2" in the search window at the top left.

4. Hit "buy now" under the Pe-2 addon link!

you forgot to specify that they have to first go to an european UBI site, by choosing an european country in the international dropping menu on bottom left of the webpage.

I just went to the Pacific Fighters page and clicked on the SHOPPING link at the top of the page.

http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php

Type in PE-2 in the search box and it brings it up.

And if you type il2 instead of pe2, you will have all il2 products available for shopping, including the pe2 addon, but also the complete dvd edition that include IL2 FB, AEP, PF and PE2.

Me too, but i'm european. I can trick the website by going first to US UBI website, then clicking on shopping. This will bring me to the US shopping site. The web address is the same, shop.ubi.com, but the site is different, and IL2 products are not for sale in the US.

if you are from USA, or if someone from USA can reach the european shopping site with this link, then this is perfect. But i'm not sure it work, and i can't really try being myself in europe.

You can also click on the download link on the front page and find all 1C Maddox IL2 games right at the top. Thats without selecting any language or using the search function.

Two different ubistores at different web addresses offering differing products.

US Ubistore http://store.ubi.com/

UK Ubistore http://shop.ubi.com/default.asp

No problem, sounds like there are a couple ways to get to the download. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Faustnik I appreciate what you are doing with this, but IMO they still need to post a direct link to those sites at the U.S. shop site. What you fail to realize is that if you are in the U.S. and you do a Google of ubisoft.com, which is the logical url to use to do a search for a product distibuted by a company that you are looking for yes? ..... the site that you get is this one:

http://www.ubi.com/US/default.aspx

The U.S site that Steve posted.... not the one you posted. Now if you go to shoping from there you wont find any of the 1C products. That was the whole purpose of my previous now locked thread that turned into something unintended. If they put a link to the Euro sites at least people who are willing to pay.. even to DL the things.. can get them. But if they do not know this they will be stuck. Worse if they do not know to come here they will just have to do without and since people are basically the same everywhere, those without scruples will seek illegal means of aquisition.

That is my concern and why I think it is such an important step for UBI to make the whole process easier. To say, as some have said in the above mentioned thread, they are not sold in the U.S. when we obviously can indeed purchase them -we just have to know the above mentioned, well hidden details - is misleading and short sighted.

Since we can get them in the U.S... why not make it easier to do. Then you have the whole thing of..... people are just not going to be too keen on using thier credit cards on a site in a language they dont know... especially in the current climate of identity theft that is so rampant worldwide...they may not even see the little flags at the bottom, or tie in the notion of..."Hey maybe those flags are other languages.." Not only that.... factor in the fact that.... well I cant speak for anyone else.. but when I spend money I want to know how much I am spending. So..... what... I have to go find a currency converter http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif? Not only that... upon my initial attempt to purchase Pe-2.... the site wouldnt even take my card, which was valid.

If UBI attempts to address these things NOW.... instead of later... then these boards can be filled with more Oooos and Ahhhs instead of !@#$% UBI!! My !@#$# @$$$%$# !@#%##.. and so on and so on... and the shareholders at UBI and 1C/RRG can be grinning to the bank.....There are hundreds of U.S. flyers who are still here.. and are chomping at the bit.... for SoM, 46, the "unnamed" add on, the gennadich thing, and BoB..... and more... I think it is a good idea to make it easier instead of harder for these customers to purchase these much anticipated products.

The same link that is on the PF home page under shopping that berg hipped us too- cause I didnt know that was a different link- , should be on the UBIsoft US website under shopping as well just as it is under the PF forum site.. or at least the same products should be listed on both sites (Which was my whole point and the thing that ticked me off, the fact that it isnt that way), especially since I can still purchase at either site....

One more thing.... go to the shopping link onm the PF/IL2 site..... OK.. you get the one that works... now hit the UBI logo on the left.... then hit shopping again. If you are in the U.S. you get the page thats will tell you "Soooorrry..." I dont know what it will say anywhere else. It is too convoluted and needs to be streamlined. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

If they putted a direct link in their US website, it would be as selling it in the US.

But they don't want to sell it in the US. They removed il2 from their US store. All il2 fb products can still be buyed... In europe.

I know you would like them to sell it in the US so it would be easy for US customers to buy it. But obviously it is not the current policy of UBI concerning this line of products.

I understand that.... but do you see the foolishness of that? Anyway... I know how to handle this....

Bearcat,

I'm not "failing to realize" anything, just helping out those with search abilities even worse than mine (yeah, I realize that's about 8 people worldwide, but, they deserve the effort).

Well, that's the reason for my post. Better to figure it out and then help others than to b*tch about it. It isn't an attempt to mislead, but rather an attempt to give the correct directions.

people are just not going to be too keen on using thier credit cards on a site in a language they dont know.

I hit the Union Jack, which signified "English" to me, and *poof* even this pickup drivin', bass boat haulin' Merrican was able to read it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm not sure why I'm getting negativity in a "help" thread? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

You know, these guys out there are trying to get money. If they decided to withdraw all IL2 products from US market between Pacific Fighters and Pe2, i believe it is because they found that it would cost them more to keep these products on this market.
