As I understand theonline Ad there will be no dynamic campaigns with the DVD 1946 version....only 200 canned misisons.

If that is true then does anyone know if I will still be able to use the DVD 1946 version with Lowengrin's DCG generator?

If not then I suppose I will have to buy the 3 1946 add-ons and do a merged install with the Il2 series I alreay have. (IL2/FB/ACES.PF)

that is incorrect, 1946 has the 200 canned 1946 missions, plus every official version of il2 before 1946, that includes pf, aces, fb, il2, pe2, som, and 1946, thats thousands of missions including multiple dynamic campaigns...

Lowengrin's DCG works fine with 1946.

From the online UBIsoft Ad:

"New Campaigns
Nine new campaigns with nearly 200 missions add incredible realism and attention to detail. There are detailed careers for fighter and bomber pilots for the German, Soviet, and Japanese air forces, offering such varied objectives as flying jet bombers over occupied Europe and intercepting American B-29 Super fortresses over Iwo Jima and Japanese home islands! As opposed to the dynamically generated campaigns that shipped with our previous offerings, the new missions are all hand-made, giving the player much more detailed environments, and much more exciting missions."

Whew...glad to hear it!....the above excerpt is the part that scared me. Now that I read it more closely it does say that the 200 1946 missions are the canned variety....but does not specifically preclude the old dynamic campaigns of Il2 and PF.

That is good news. I orderedDVD 1946 and it certainly will be nice to have one install for everything and a big relief to finally put away that huge stack of Il2 disks into the museum...not to mention deleting forever all those blasted patches and upgrades....and all this for only a measly 30 bucks which includes 2nd day shipping....what a fricking bargin.

Its about time we gamers caught a break.
