Just got the game over the weekend and all I can say is wow. Evocative is the word of the day! Anyway I was wondering what mods I should d/l for the game to make an already superior and realistic experience that bit better. Any suggestions?

Look closely at the Rub stuff. I use a friendly harbor traffic mod. Being the only ship in my home port really zapped the realism for me. I also use high-res flags. I'm content with the flames, smoke, and water so I don't have any of those mods. Just have a good look at Rubini and Beery and see what tickles your fancy.

Here are the mods I use: bowspray, vitamins, improved smoke, moon mod, improved sky, hollywood damage.

Gonna use RUB later....

Test 'em out, see what you like. There's a lot of good stuff out there, that's for sure.

Thanks, will give them a go for sure. Bow spray and moonlight sound intriguing! Where would I find those mods? Can't see them on the community mod page on official site.

You can try these links...

I highly recommend using the SH3 Generic Mod Enabler before you begin modding. Enjoy! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info! Sorry, just 1 more question! What's the Generic Mod Enabler?! Will I need it before I start d/l'ing mods for SH3?

If you just get the lastest version of RUB, it has many of the mods listed in this thread built into it. Saves you from installing them all separately.

If you're going for realism, RUB is the way to go.

Only thing I add is the Ultimate Gramaphone Pack (I like all the old tunes).

Make sure and get the radio traffic mod. It improves the campaign feel. I only wish that the reports matched up with actual ship traffic. It is nice to get different messages besides "be more aggressive" and "keep up the good work". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

The JSGME is an essentially utility for managing the installation of SH3 mods.

Almost any mod can be installed with JSGME. It will warn you if a mod you're installing conflicts with any you've previously installed. It lets you uninstall and disable mods, too!

We would be stuck in the mud without it!
