I haven't been able to ever find a copy (even via the net), but there was a fictional book written about the Assassins called Firdous e Bareen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firdous_e_Bareen). It was written by an Indian Muslim named Abdul Halim Sherer (when, I'm not sure.. but awhile ago I imagine).

Alamut and the old man of the mountain is an interesting subject. Essentialy used the fear they invoked to maintain their fortress as an independent entity.

I am a freshman in college and my English composition teacher recently assigned a research paper that is open topic, which means we get to pick it. Being interested in history and really anticipating this game, I figure why not write one about this time period. Any books about the Hashashin/ Alamut/Who all was assassinated in the third crusade/ and the original clan of assassins would be a great help.
