View Full Version : Player Appear at Location after Movie

I've got a new problem. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

1.) I created two movies.

2.) I used one sensor to force the player to move to a waypoint.

3.) While doing so, he has to move across another sensor.

4.) This 2nd sensor plays the two movies.
At the end of the 2nd movie, there is an Fade Out/In.

5.) I used the action "act_Appear" to make the player disappear from the sensor and appear on a marker in a house.

Problem: The last bit doesn't work. The player is still on the sensor/waypoint after the movie.

Question: Is there a problem with the parameter "movetotarget" in the "act_PlayerControl"? - how can I stop the player to move to this waypoint? - Is that the problem or am I just to stupid? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Don't say I'm stupid... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

That's a bit complicated action and there's a lot of detail that can go wrong. act_Appear might won't work on movie chain so you need to create appear action after the movie. The chain can look like this:

- move player to marker with "move to target"
- enter sensor and spawn two movies
- after movies fade out screen
- appear player at marker
- fade in screen

That's what I've done but it still doesn't work. The player just stays at the point he stays before the movie.

Send me this map and I'll see why it's like that. Add action on level start that will move player to this sensor so I won't have to look where it is. You can also send me a screenshots of the actions. Maybe I'll find something. If this won't help, I'll create a selection of that action.

Sorry for always asking, but did you got the time to check the problem and did you got a feedback for the other map? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

No, everyone is very busy now, we had a lot of important work from other projects. Sorry http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

No problem. But I really need your help with this appear-problem beacause my map doesn't really work without it - and the delays. The map you sent to the programmers isn't really important, but this is. As I already said, I wanted to create this map for the contest and there aren't much days left. I wont really find a good way without solving these probs.

Or should I just release an really early beta? So that some other users can try to solve the prob if the would like to help and you haven't got enough time?

That finally worked. THANKS A LOT!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
I've forgotten that there is an "postaction" you can set for being triggered after the movies.
Hope I will get my map finished until 30th...
