I've read here that IL-2 does not model the relative speed of wind. Usually pertaining to carrier takeoff.

I tested it out, and unsuprisingly, wind does affect the planes takeoff.

For a demonstration of this, I made the J8A do a vertical takeoff from a carrier. 63km/h carrier + 30km/h wind > stall speed.

For reference, the wind blows from the north on the Coral Sea map (at a guess, all maps). The only time there is a lot of wind, is when it's raining or storming.

Yeah, a couple people here have noticed that, but I don't think it's sunk in. The lack of any control over wind speed or direction kind of hides its presence. It apparently blows from different directions depending on the map, too, but the wind direction isn't documented anywhere.

So... are there gusts, too?

wind direction needs to be indicated somehow on these maps..either in text or with some kind of marker-
if it cant be done here then it needs to be in BoB
