View Full Version : Overhyped Sci-fi?

Now don't get me wrong, I dream about AC every minute of every day (http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif ) but I have begun to worry. I mean, I have no doubt that I'll love the sci-fi twist as well as everything else. But I reckon Patrice is gonna get a bit of egg in his face if all it turns out to be is: "Actually, Altair's Hiddenblade is battery operated.... by Duracell. So it lasts longer, much longer."

Anyone else worrying about it?

I think the Sci-fi is something they threw in later with the whole Assassins concept they had going.

With the Sci-Fi aspect in there they have a good base for a trilogy.
Would be hard to make a trilogy in a world where you've restored peace already, not to mention incredibely boring lol

I agree, I was just thinking about that a minute ago. If the comic has anything to do with it I'll be kind of upset. I don't want to simply be remembering what my great assassin ancestor did some 921 years ago. I simply want to know that I'm doing it. le-sigh http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

When you are playing your Gameboy, or just killing someone with a retractable blade, use Duracell.

Yeah I don't know why there is a sci-fi thing It would have been better if it was really epic they say there going for realism and they say there is no time traveling which is a lie I dont understand!

Two Words...Artistic Design. Thats what they were going for right at the start. UBI though....hmmm...Assassin....Old....Na thats too overdone....White Coat...thats good...And ive got it! A Sci-fi twist to make a conspiracy expand throughout the games! Sell laods, and ahve great gameplay! Done and Done. We dont know what its going to be like./ buy the game, liek it buy the next. If not leave the forums and follow another game.

>_> I'm completely unworried... or at least I'm reserving judgment until I actually eunderstand the plot in its entirety...

I don't think people get the point of this thread, what it is meant to be is:

What if the 'big twist that we'll find out 30 seconds into the game' isn't actually that intersting. Discuss that, not the random spammy - not important posts I've seen.

I think the whole futuristic concept is being over analyzed too much by too many people. I think UBI is much smarter than to make such a great game and ruin it with a weak storyline. I think they have put as much thought and effort into that as they have into the game. At least I hope so. But in my opinion the sci fi twist is a cool element to have in a older settin type of game. Just adds a bit of suspense and make it much more interesting rather the just runin around killin people .

Well... if it does turn out badly, then I'll have to yell at UbiRazz or Patrice or somebody for getting me excited after the resulting feelings of being underwhelmed... xD

>_> So far there's only one occasion I went into such a flying rage that I sent mildly disgruntled e-mails toward creators of things...

I wouldn't say it's overhyped, many don't even like the idea.

I agree, the sci fi stuff is the only part i dont like about this game. It could have been perfect, but... And as for sequels, I dont wanna see modern time gameplay! I LIVE in the modern times why do i need to relvie what i am currently living. Plus how many modern games have been done? Alot. How many Crusades period games have been done? VERY few if any. Pls make the next AC game about the past! Although future is intrigueing to me for some reason...

Yes the sci-twist if they is one because in a interview they said that you have to see the very beginning to know the plot. If they is a plot with sci it will be a very cool sequel. To travel to another time nd place to kill important figures. Maybe in the napoleon times, of World War times of some interresting times. For the sequel for the Third game if theyr is true about the trilogy a future or possible future

As long as the futuristic stuff doesn't turn the sequels into Splinter Cell with free running, I'm cool with it.
