OK, the Super Bowl of football is today. In 2 weeks, we have our Nascar Super Bowl, the Daytona 500.

This year is a tough pick for me. I am a Jeff Gordon/Jimmie Johnson fan, a Junior fan(always have been, not because he joined the Hendricks Team), a Michael Waltrip fan, and a Dale Jarrett fan.

This is probably Dale Jarrett's last year, and Michaels comeback year(With Toyota's strong appeal this year). I really think we will se Michael and Jr. up front as always, but Jeff and Jimmie right behind them.

Anyhow, I was wondering how many Kaleuns this year are Nascar fans, and who your picks are.(If your loved one is over seas, such as Mr. Liddabit , Colwell1199, and Ottoramsaig1959, please also ask them for their favorite and post it here).

Don't forget to fly the #3 flag, and tie a yellow ribbon around the flag pole http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

PS, I'd like the Top Gear crew to announce this event this year, now that would be interesting http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Still dont get what the whole point of Nascar is.

But they should send the Stig over there ! I bet he would have a chance to really win something.

Are radios allowed in the cars ? He's nothing without his "Romantic fiction" audio books or his "Let's learn italian" CD's.

That means...one can actually win a Nascar race right ? Its really not that obvious ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Look, his visor is a bit up....one could almost see something.

"Some say...that he is some sort CIA experiment that went wrong...all we know, he is called the Stig !" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

"Some say... that he is in no way involved in the cash for honor scandal....all we know, he is called LORD Stig " http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

The old black stig was never so careless....... R.I.P black Stig

Yes I am a fan of Nascar, fav drivers, ones that win of course and any that can beat Jeff Gordon.

like Jr, stewart, McMurray(sp), DJ, Waltrip.

Got a Local in the Busch series(Oh wait a minute they changed the name this year) young kid of 19 going to be racing for JR and hendricks motors named of Casill, Kind of interesting to see how he does with the big boys.

got a few other fav to, I will watch the 500, abuot the only race I watch start to finish, the rest I mostly just watch the last 20 to so laps.

I will be watching for Dale JR, Tony Stewart & some of the older ones still racing.

Also as an aside does anyone have any concrete info on who is showing the reces live in the UK, because at the moment we have both sky & NASN claiming that they are showing the Sprint Cup.

Yeah, it has been a long wait. It's time for Matt Kenseth to catch a break. And anybody over fat-boy Tony - just once I'd like to see him fall off the fence and break an arm/leg/neck/[insert body part here]. I hate patronizing Home Depot, heh heh. Should be interesting with Junior no longer 8, but the Mighty 88. Yes, I'd like to see an amazing comeback for Dale, with or without the truck. Watch out for Rusty's kid. He will be an up and coming racer very soon.

@ Heinrich505 - As long as Steven Wallace stops crashing every race, he might do something promising. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Kenseth did a great job last year, so I do think he will be a great contender for the Cup this year. But this year might be tricky, with the COT full time(I love this car).

@ Celeon - I would love The Stig to join Nascar. As long as he knows how to turn left for 3 hours http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Been a NASCAR fan for a long time and I go to the Daytona 500 every year. I think that the Hendrick organization is going to take it again. I'm pulling for Dale Jr. but something deep inside tells me that it's Gordo's year.

As a longtime Dale Sr. fan, you can guess who I pull for now. I also pull for Mark Martin because he races the other guys clean.

I have a gut feeling, that if Mark was not on a partial schedule, I think he would have been a contender for the chanpionship. He led almost 1/2 the season, it was a shame he shared the ride with David Reagan, or I think he would have.
