That can't be true and should be fixed,

it does not need to be even be hit, with enough G's it comes off by itself. This is natural.

I wouldn't say its useless. You can still land and takeoff with the wingtip floats if you don't mess up prop on the water. Pretty strange. I too can't believe the centre flat was THAT loosely attached
