View Full Version : Do we need a new console to make AC better?

So after reading this article...

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/...ts-new-consoles.aspx (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/04/11/ubisoft-wants-new-consoles.aspx)

...I really have to believe this is why the industry is having problems. I mean really, a CEO is going to blame his publicly traded company's lack of performance on the fact that the console's are stale and his designers cannot come up with anthing new? So in a worldwide recession with country's going bankrupt we want to ask gamers to shell out more money to get a new console and then hopefully they will have money left to buy games with...unreal. All that would happen is COD15 will be released right next to AC15 and we all will be no better off. Has video cards advancements helped the PC game sales?..nope.

I think AC is a prime example of designers and engineers being able to make a good franchise and not have a lack of creativity. It's not anyone else's fault that AC is carrying Ubi and he has to make excuses for the rest of them.

Let's just hope the last sentence in the article doesn't come true...

A new console is always better but I think that they can push the engine a little further on the current consoles...

i dont want to see another console for years yet-ive only had my PS3 a year and a half anyway look how good red dead redemption graphics are compared to AC graphics i think plenty more improvements can be done!

No doubt there are still rooms for improvement in the graphics department. Certain gameplay elements.

While loading times aren't an issue, that can be improved as well.

All this can still be done on current gen consoles.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the consoles we have now. Really, there isn't much more we can improve, unless people want 3D holograms, which ain't gonna happen soon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Brotherhood uses like 40% of the PS3's cell processing power (the same as the original inFamous). They don't need new consoles whatsoever, it's just much easier if new consoles are made.
