Hi guys,

I have an ATI x1800 that supports shader 3.0 but i cant seem to get water=3 to work in openGL mode.
Is it possible?

I think for ATI, you want water=2

thanks for the reply....
that is disapointing considering its a top of the line card.
oh well

I thought there was a water=4 that works with the X series of cards, I could be wrong though.

It was unfortunate that when ATI designed its new card for PS3.0 it didn't support all of the same options that Nvidia did. IMHO a stupid marketing move as Nvidia had PS3.0 earlier and kinda set the standard.

Not to be disappointed.
The higher numbers are designed for the nvidea cards.
Water 2 on ATI is the equivelant 'perfect' water.

Water=2 is using PS3 on ATI cards m8.

You shouldn't be disappointed. If you've installed Patch 4.02 or higher water=2 was made into a mode that is essentially like nVidia's water=3 was previously. So the 3D water is present in water=2. Even my old Radeon 9700Pro could do the new water=2 which is awesome and speaks volumes to what the ATI cards and Oleg can do. But it wasn't fast enough so your top level card will have beautiful 3D water and a high frame rate to boot.

Enjoy it!

I'm running the Radeon 850XT and on Water=2, the water looks ABSOLUTELY real. It's really astonishing. I've actually sat and just watched the water in amazement for a few minutes after downing my plane. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

sk065, turn on <water=2> for your ATI card and see if you'll still be disappointed. Bet you won't be...
