Just picked up 1946 from direct2drive on Friday, and have been having a BLAST with it! Best 9 bucks I ever spent. The OL ain't none too happy about it though, she's been an IL-2 widow ever since I got 'er loaded up.

I'd like to thank Bearcat99 and all the folks who participated in the "Nugget's guide" thread,
Zeus Cat for the "Straight From the Farm" campaign, Dart for the training videos...

Running through Straight from the Farm, I was able to take off and land on a carrier, first try, with full realism on. It's an excellent set of training missions, I highly recommend it for any other noobs like me.

Be seein' ya'll online, hopefully soon...

LOL I'm not counting all the times I ripped the wheels off on the "training carrier" in the missions. Dunno if you are familiar with ZC's training missions but the first "carrier" landing attempt is a runway (on land) with a carrier outline and a nice island/bridge to crash into.

I ran through that probably five or six times before I tried my first real carrier landing (which was successful). There are a lot of no legged SDBs laying around that practice "carrier" now. =P

Thanks weasleteats for the feedback and excellent recommendation on my training campaign. It's good to hear that the campaign is still helping people.

Welcome and I want to say that I like your name.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellers...

Any server recommendations?
What servers do yall play?

I'm prolly gonna try my hand online this evening. Which might be bad, cause I tend to lose track of time and got work tomorrow.

Oh, and can someone point me ot a working download for the uber quick mission generator? It doesn't look like m4t has the file anymore.

Weaselteats welcome on board, you're no relation to ChimpTits by any chance? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Most servers are on Hyperlobby.

Spits vs 109's is a good one, so are Zekes vs Wildcats and UKdedeicated. It really depends on what type of flying you want to do, some servers are full realism, others have more relaxed settings like external and no cockpit views enabled. Try a few to get a feel for what's out there.

Let us know how you make out, and if you have any questions, just ask http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Get online, mate.

UKdedicated 1 and 2 are great learning servers.

In fact Ukded2 is just a great server overall.

Make sure you make your chatbar more than one lne or you will miss all the chat and server messages. Open it and drag the window bigger with the mouse. Then you can chat and ask questions http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nope, No relation as far as I know...
Weasles and chimps are whole different species.
Except in the south where we're all inbred.
