Looking at earlier WIP stuff on the BOBSOW....there was a German guy who produced some fantastic looking trains and trucks and carriages and station buildings etc.....was all that going to be in the SOW or what?

If so.....I also happen to like trains (like many old Brits) and it looks like SOW could become a great train sim too....if the mission builder is any better than that in il2....and if we get all that lovely stuff.....

I have seen the trains your talking about and I'm looking forward to dropping 250kg's on them...I wonder if the engines explode in a fog of steam when you rake them with machine gun fire?

Yes, I am very much looking forward for this. It's going to be great to build a complex switching yard, or rail hub...if possible that is. Like the one's seen being strafed in old gun cam vidios http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

This is where you want Fabian (http://forums-de.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3751020023/m/2181080123?r=9991029016#9991029016) nearly 100 pages of rail related objects.

Foo.bar did a great job on the railway-stuff.

I don't know about further models of railway-stuff, but if any of you had information about inland waterway transportation, especially technical drawings, that would be really helpful!

I must admit that my expectations for land/map/ground detail it pretty high right now...

Its obvious that we will need powerful machines to get the most out of the ground detail they are building into the game.

Their are some people who claim that eye candy and visual detail are unimportant to them...apparently they would be just as happy flying around in 2D "sprites", as long as their flight models (and damage models) are accurate (state of the art). I hope for a nice balance between eye candy and flight/damage/physics modeling...for me, Oleg is the man. Oleg is very good at knowing where the line between the two worlds is...his instincts for building great games is spot on...I have faith in his upcoming game 3D grass and all.

Captain, can you be a little more specific about what you are looking for?

It's very hard to find useful links about inland shipping, that you can build models from. I've done some research last year about these things and found little solid input. I don't know about the current status, but it won't hurt gathering informations. Best would be detailed close-ups and plans of the boats and tugs used of course.

I thought the same thing before I saw your post. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Just don't say his name 3 times in a row. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I will try to find some info regarding tugs and river barges.

I asked Foo.bar a while ago which (German) trains would be in the game:

Answer:

"..for the initial release only a few of my models are designated, wich are BR 56 steamer, Köf2 shunter, A4 class steamer and some freight- and passenger cars.
Perhaps and when I will have time enough to finish we will see some more models in BoB. All other stuff is for later SoW releases."
