Two quick questions about drop tanks.

1. Do any planes have fuel guages for drop tanks?

2. How do you know when the drop tanks are empty?

the droptank is empty when the fuelgauges are moving.

i doubt you will ever empty a droptank in this game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
most pilots are using them to be lighter on the combatzone.
using 50% fuel and a droptank - means that the internal tanks are alwasy at 50% till you drop the tank

You know when the tanks are empty by the fuel consumption versus airspeed and time equation you wrote on the back of your hand during your breifing. Then all you have to do is check your watch

I think the question rising from this topic will contribute:

In order to carry a droptank a rack of some sort is needed. After jettisoning the tank, the rack stays on the airframe.

Is the drag caused by this rack modelled ingame?

and some planes have magnetic "racks" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

others have the racks always http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

yes the drag is modeled i think, some droptanks dont work in 4.01 (bug)
i tend to use drop tank on planes where theres no rack, like zero, spitfire etc. ingame droptanks fall off when uve used up the fuel inside them
