Hello my good friends,

Does anyone have a good reference book or other source listing which squadrons operated the following aircraft?

Halifax GR Mk.V involved in naval operations
Beaufighter TF MK.X involved in naval operations
B-25H Mitchell involved in naval operations
F6F-3 Hellcat
TBF Avenger
Bf109s involved in naval operations
MC.202 involved in naval operations
A6M2 Kamikaze

Any good source or reliable info for any of this would be great.

Check out the Fleet Air Arm archive for information on the Royal Navy aircraft:

Thanks Berg, but this doesn't have the squadron info that I need. It lists only 5 of the many more squadrons that operated the Beaufighter and doesn't specify which one.

Where have all the aviation historians of this forum gone? Have they all disappeared disappointed by the long wait?

Si, Senor. It is I...El Hombre del Telephono! Ole'!

Let's see...where haven't I been? Hmmm...I haven't been to Russia and I haven't been to Antartica...yet.

I've been lurking about. I pop in once a month or so to see what all the yelling is about. I'm back in Tijuana and sitting on the 20th floor of the Grand Hotel with an awesome new Telcel 3G card. Fast! On my last trip I was caught in the crossfire between the police and some banditos so they yanked me around to some other parts of the country for awhile and now I'm back. Our company has really expanded and my department is no longer treading water...we're sinking! But there is light at the end of the tunnel and I hope to be back in the air soon. I now have cellular broadband at the house but...obviously...I haven't been using it for flying. I've been using it to keep in touch with my kids while on these !@#$%! trips.

But I don't want to hijack the honorable Neural_dream's post so I'll stay on topic with another offering of:

In addition, Senor Dream, I recommend PMing Leitmotiv for additional reading material. He's my main source. If the scalawag is still hanging around. Over in the Pilot's Lounge I imagine.

Aircraft of the Aces #10: Hellcat Aces of WWII by Osprey has some squadron listings for both USN and FAA, but I'm not sure if it's complete.
