Hello there,
After a rather long break I'm flying around in IL2 (merged install) again. I used to be rather good at hitting stuff from very high with the bombs in/under my He111. Now I was trying out the B25, a more attractive plane to fly for me except for one tiny little detail: I can't hit squat when I have to set my bombsight with miles and feet. Being a Yurpean I prefer having my speedbar set to meters and the only IAS/TAS conversion table I have/can find on any fansite is in meters and kilometers.
I royally suck at math and since I suppose I'm not the first one running into a problem related to this matter I dare to ask: does anybody out there have an IAS/TAS conversion table in miles/feet, a way to set the sight with m/km or a similar solution suited for the mathematically impaired?
Thanks,
Rob

I found I can get consistent hits with the B-25 with these manual drop settings I found somewhere (I don't like the auto function because it salvos the bombs):

Bomb load: 6 - 500 lbs
Altitude: 10,000 feet
Speed: 170 KIAS
Prop Pitch: 90%
Power: 90%
Supercharger: Stage 2
Bombsight Speed: 210 knots
Bombsight Altitude: 50 feet plus or minus aircraft altitude.
Bombsight angle: 39 degrees
Level Stabilizer: On
Use Rudder trim to fine tune left/right aim.

Drop bombs when the crosshairs are just about to cross the target.

Works for me!

try a 3rd party utility called Bombsight Table 2. Input metric values, and it will give you the imperial equivalents, and also will give knots.

Get it from airwarfare.com I think.

Thanks a lot Willy, but I need something more flexible. IIRC 3000m is about 15000ft, right? If so 10000ft is too low for me anyway.
