View Full Version : Who's got the monkey? Do you have the monkey?

I hope so, because my wingman doesn't. He keeps telling me that ad nauseum. Neither my flight nor my whole squadron have the monkey--nor, for that matter, does the control tower. How do I know this? Because they also keep telling me over and over that they have "no monkey." On the other hand, "consifer" seems to be a pretty big deal with them.

I wish I knew why the monkey was so important--and what a consifer is. Maybe the monkey wears a pillbox hat and dances a jig while playing a consifer? Who knows? I don't, because I don't speak Japanese.

Do you?

Is this a new line in the voice packs, because if it is I'd like to hear them say it. What a hoot that'll be to hear !

Sorry m8,

Borrowed the monkey for the weekend and forgot to bring it back in this week. I'll send it back to you ASAP http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I don't speak Japanese either. In fact I haven't even gotten around to flying any of the Japanese aircraft yet; I'm still working my way through the allied selection.

I bet you will find that these words (and from what you say they turn up alot in the game) that sound like 'monkey' and 'confiser' translate as words that turn up equally as much in the 'English' voice packs.
So, I deduce:
monkey means 'sorry I can't comply' and confiser means 'what do you think you are you doing! Get back in formation. I won't tell you again!'

Major--that's what I assume, too. I have been flying Japanese alot the last several months, and even though I can sort of figure out what they are saying, I would be nice to have a translation.

Oh, and it's funny when I ask my wingman to cover me, and he replies with two distinct phrases in Japanese, and then he says in perfect English "Allright,I got you covered." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Oho, I get you guys now ! LOL, that is funny !

I think the "confiser" sounds to me like " kansasu " (if there is such a Japanese word) . The phrase actually sounds like " Ori ori kansasu ! " http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
