The device mirrors your head movement, but exagerates this when moving the camera. you can set it up to suit yourself for how fast it moves. PF does not support the forward/back or lean function, but if you can afford it the vector expansion is worth while as it is smoother and will most probably be supported by next gen Oleg sim.

good luck

Buy one - you'll never look back (groan).
Absolutely essential piece of kit IMHO.

Track IR3 Pro, with Vector Expansion as a nice option (for more natural tracking).

I have TrackIR2 (no vector expansion) and wouldn't be without it.

It's the simplest of all decisions: BUY IT!

I have TiR2.I can't fly without it.

With the 1C:Maddox game series, moving your head back and forwards wont move your view much. Moving side to side will depend on whether or not you have the Pro version of TIR with Vector expansion. Without Vector, any sideways or vertical rotation or translation that goes beyond the deadband will change where you're looking within the game. With the Vector expansion only rotation will change which direction you look, translation is ignored. Get the Pro http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've had my TIR3Pro + VE for less than a week, and it's revolutionized the game for me. It was fun before, but now it's ***FUN***!

I used to fly in Wonder Woman mode because it was the only way I could see anything, but now I never use it. With full cockpit and TIR you feel as if you're in the aircraft. I never had that feeling without it, and I don't want to go back.

I'm a recent Track IR3 Pro buyer with Vector Expansion. I recommend buying it but only grudgingly. While I love what it does, it can cause some hiccups in your system. It took me a while to get it setup and working right, but now it is. I'm almost confident enough with it to do an offline compaign with no Wonder Woman but I've not started it yet. Will let you know.

TrackIr2 user here. Worth every penny.

"Flyin'" without it would now be suicide.

I will become a TrackIr3 vector, pro, 6dof, blah, blah, blah, owner at some point, too!

I can't use TrackIr with WW mode even if I wanted to. I can't keep track of which direction I'm looking without the cockpit to "frame the scene".

Buy It - moving your head forward or back does not change the view, so will not cause you a problem.

When first installing the game, without Hat Switch views, wonder woman does give a newbie confidence, but you really don't need it, and with track ir, it's so much better with cockpit views.

Using a Tracker IR makes IL2 FB and PF as real as they can get. For MS's FS9 and the Wings of Power addon, the vectoring software makes it even more real.

Like others have said, I couldn't fly without one. It actually makes flying easier.

i wont fly without it anymore, unless i HAD to .

its more important than the joystick, for the SENCE of "BEING THERE"

not that i am saying a joystick is not needed..it is. sticks make the MECHANICAL side of flying more realistick than keyboard.

TRACK-IR ....puts you in the cockpit, as if you are REALLY THERE.
