I'm one of those PC gamers that collects all manners of games but rarely delves into a single title and plays it whole-heartedly to its very end. Flight sims have a special place in my heart and I own tons of them, but have limited myself to playing under novice settings and playing single missions (EAW is a rare exception).

I recently got 1946 and I want to get into some single missions for instant gratification and to satisfy my short attention span. I've created many quick action ones but I want something with just a little more depth...just a little! Where can I download the best, simple, yet action-packed, single-player scenarios?

One of these days I'm going to configure my controllers, learn how to land properly, and get into a campaign. But for now, single-player missions only please.

Try netwings.org and airwarfare.com ( http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif). I haven't found any missions for the new planes in 46 yet but they have hundreds of missions which you could use, aircraft skins and also other useful addons such as music and sppech packs.

Good luck.

I'm assuming that all custom missions are compatible with all versions of IL2?

It's a safe bet and a good general rule-of-thumb that missions will be compatible with the version it was written in as well at newer versions. If you try to use one for a verson previous to the one it was made in, you run the risk of objects and planes in the mission not being supported in the previous versions. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

There are a small number of exceptions. Some of the early versions of the original IL2 Sturmovik allowed all aircraft to start their engine anywhere. Subsequently this was changed so that aircraft that could only start with the aid of a battery cart or similar couldn't start their engines away from airfields and missions made before that change (not many these days) sometimes leaving sitting at a "field" airstrip with no way to start your engine.

Also sometimes what was a good challenging but achievable mission in the version it was designed for has become either laughably easy or frustratingly impossible after some flight model changes (though it starts & runs ok).<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
