Hi ....
My name is Celeste.
Are there any other girl players in the forum?

I hate to be a real pain but I bought this game recently and love it.I now play this and The Sims 2 ...boys that sounds wierd.

I read in the forums about IUB 1.03 which i supposed to be wonderful.

But I went to the address everyone says it is at....
But can not find it there at all.

Could someone please be as kind as to post a direct link to the file please.

Thanks and Cheers to all.

Welcome to the community!

Though the majority are male players, I do think there are some female players as well.

IUB at UBRS - I just went there, I didn't see it neither. Perhaps it's because Terrapin, the admin of UBRS, cleaned the DLC of "unused" mods, since he had some hosting costs and too few donations. Besides some other supermods have replaced IUB, such as Grey Wolves Expansion (GWX), Not Your Grand Mothers Tonnage War mod (NYGM TW) and U-Boat War Ace Campaign.

NYGM TW are for those super realistic, GWX is both eye candy and realistic minded, UWAC are more into historical campaign.

Personally, I'm creating GWX-TA, which is an add on for GWX, a sort of an arcade/kids version of GWX. It's not fully ready yet, but you could try out GWX, then later GWX-TA if you want.

Hi and welcome to the forums http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have IUB 1.03 on the hard drive still and although I don't play the game with this mod anymore I have kept it in case it becomes unavailable, as it has now.

If you want to still play the game with this mod I'm happy to chuck it onto CD and send it to you via snail mail.

If you are interested send me a PM and we can arrange shipment - I nwould never charge anyone for this so no worries there. Many of us on this forum have done this for others so there is no problem.

You are I'm afraid in a minority, but very welcome nonetheless. It's good to see another lady Kaleun joining our family here http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

As for other ladies, look out for Weebles and Ali_109, although Ali's been MIA for a while tho' sadly.

While not on the forum, my wife plays SH3 - though she makes fun of me for reading the forum. Yet she likes SH3Commander and the new ships and planes I put into the game after finding out about them here. Go figure.

I bet no one here can afford to doubt your sexuality for playing SH3. Just sayin. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hi All.....
Thank you all for your replies and to the lovely person who offered to send it to me.
I was at a friend house not so long ago and when I arrive he was playing this game.He asked if I wanted a go and I thought its not really my sort of thing but why not.
He showed me how to steer the sub and we went through all the tutorial missions which took me a fewc hours cause I keep sending the sub the wong way till I got the hang of the compass and bearing.

I think I really got hooked when the torpedo starting finding there marks ... i think it all thought that goes into just one shot that make it so interesting for me.
The fact you cannot afford to waste shots so its not a silly shoot everything you see game... well it is when you get to convoy but you know what I mean.

I really hate it though when you line it all up right ... fire the torpedo and see it is running striaght and true ( picked that term up from my friend ) then its hits and it's a dud!.I almost scream.

Also the gae is quite easy to learn some simulators are so complicated you really can't be bothered spending all that time... but once you get the basics of this game you gradually learn more and more I can even plot a decent course now ..
Anyway thanks again to all.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. You are not alone, my sister is getting into Silent Hunter 3 and all. Though only I visit the boards here.

It is very satisfying when torpedoes find their marks. Its even more satisfying when you see the ships sink. Real sense of accomplishment. Its a fun game, but watch out with some of the supermods they can make the game almost pointlessly harder.

The others here are more up to speed with SH3 than I so are better to guide you. Though I like the look of WAC. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hello and welcome, hope you'll have a great time here, not just reading all the patrol reports, but reading all the links and learning along the way.
Good luck and good hunting

Welcome to the SH forums http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you haven't done so already, check out the Silent Hunter III Community Manual (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Main_Page), which has lots more information than the official printed manual (although the website seems to be a bit broken at the moment http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif )

I could add 2 more females to RJ's list, you may see one player named TheAvonLady from time to time, and at Subsim there is also SheGeek and Misbehavin'. You are not alone.

Ali was the most active here at UBI, but as RJ mentioned, she has been MIA for about 3 months. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Welcome. No you are not alone. There 3 known female players Webels, Crystine, and Avon Lady(have anyone seen the last lately?)

Crystine appeared briefly in the Community Help forum recently, which was nice http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
