Has anyone seen this? Reportedly 1C is working with Gennadich Team to create a WWI sim entitled Knights of the Sky (Not to be confused with the earlier title of the same name which is supposedly a dead project). It also is supposed to be using the IL-2 engine (albeit updated). Could it be that our wish for a modern WWI sim may see the light of day afterall????

Is there any word on whether this will be released outside of Russia and if so, who will be distributing it?

"At the core, the game is based on the deep modification of Maddox Games' Il2-Sturmovik engine to which the team is planning to add thousands of new features. These changes will include new 3d models, terrain, video and sound effects, light/gunnery physics adjustments and many other things that will bring the game to modern standard."

Would be great if these new modifications were implemented to our FB/AEP/PF http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ALLRIGHT!!
If its based on a heavily modified il-2 engine, that things are going to be the most sweetest...sweeter than humble pie...indeed...yes...

Finally I can fly a real plane instead of that overcushioned 109 (and tactics are much simpler without the ability to do all those fancy manouveres http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif)

Man, I look forward to this one! The IL2/FB engien is very well suited to low level, T&B-style dogfights, possibly even better suited than it is to WWII flying.

Not likely. They are making quite a few changes to support their product. No doubt everything is scalled to the WWI level.

Can't wait to hear the sounds of tearing canvas and snapping/crunching wood. Nothing like those sounds.....Just hope it has the offline campaign atmosphere ( or even close ) that RBII/3D had.
