Wouldnt hurt with some other flyable german figher birds other than Fokker and Albatros. Very pleased to see Gotha G.V / AEG G.IV planned as flyable though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif But no flyable Pup! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

They really need to add an Albatros DII to the list of flyables to match up with the Pup and Nieup.17........Though the planes of WWI are so extremely varied, a lot of research to be done if they don't look to the RB3d community for help.........The work has already been done there, to some insane degree's...(imagine learning how then actually building flyable Props like they did at the Fokker works....and I don't mean CG, I mean real).

08-31-2006, 11:21 AM
This is likely to be the big flight sim event---bar none. Looks like a maximum solution with incredible animation in air and on ground. Albatros DII---yes. Fly a Gotha! Get outta here!

08-31-2006, 11:33 AM
Can't wait for someone to 8!tch about the Lewis guns being undermodeled.

08-31-2006, 11:44 AM
Pfalz and Hannover really need some flyable there. I would like also to have some early war stuff there. WW1 didn't start in 1917.

Great news, tho. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

08-31-2006, 11:53 AM
im so clueless about ww1 air warfare, i bet this game will put me in my place

08-31-2006, 12:02 PM
THEY FOUGHT FOR THE SKY by Quentin Reynolds is an excellent introduction to the WWI air war, Haigotron. Amazon USA has tons of copies for next to nothing. Read that and you will be ready to roll!

08-31-2006, 12:15 PM
I agree on the Albatross II, not to mention the Halberstadts and it wouldnt hurt to have some flyable Pfalz fighters either, since they were actually pretty common.

I am really really looking forward to this one!

danke http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif i was looking for a new aviation book

No Eindecker. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

As a late war set, though, it's everything you could ask for. I'll definitely enjoy it, but in the back of my heart there will always be a secret hope for an early war expansion pack.

And, you know, an eastern front pack. No one mentions the WWI eastern front. You thought the MiG-3 was ugly? See some of the Russian WWI fighters. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

08-31-2006, 12:44 PM
While I completely sympathize with your wish for an Eindekker, NonWonderDog, and would find duels with Be 2s fascinating, I think most would find the structural limitations on aerobatics of the E boring.

08-31-2006, 12:56 PM
Thankfully, they decided to ditch the ancient IL-2 engine. We'll have to wait longer now, but it bodes much better for the long term.

Oh yeah, eastern front would be a blast, and not only that...some of the classiest looking planes served there

Ph├┬Ânix D.II http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

Not to forget the Italians who flew Spads and Nieuports etc...

And dont forget a Zeppelin addon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

ACK!...I misread, no Pfalz DIII flyable?!!

That is a must have for any WWI sim, more so then the Dr1 and especially the Gotha by far. DH2 though I hate the pushers as well....I'd really rather see the sim (though no doubt they're trying to get instant interest and you don't do that as follows)....Start out in 1914, add-ons filling in each subsequent year.

Reason is that would really teach the basics and show real evolution not just in the planes but the players......What will most likely happen is as with many, they'll fly a F.DVII or S.XIII, then wonder how come a Nieuport 11 is so weak, or a Halberstadt so slow....Learning to fly the planes that barely do really helps teach for those that can....Ah well.

As said, would like to get back to WWI though I've really gotten into the Ki-61/IJAFC thing.

If I can't fly a German naval zep to London only to get blown by a freak wind all the way to Norway and shot down over Heligoland by a naval Camel, I will boycott this item! (Seriously, I'd love it!).

LEBillfish has the right program, but, inevitably, they'll jump in with the 1918 stuff, and, yes, of course, the users will wonder why "c--p planes" like the Albatri DIII and V ever got such great reps. Pfalz DIII a huge omission.

08-31-2006, 01:21 PM
im so excited for this game now, ive been looking at the screens and i must say excellent work...i always put off the game till now...

and imagine, if all goes according to plan this and BoB will come out at the same time...so many planes...so little time

08-31-2006, 01:39 PM
First be _real_ happy the list is as big as it is!

Then plenty room for expansion if the sim engine will allow.

Eindekker, Razor, Aviatiks, Hansas, Etrich Dove, Alb B-1, Moranes, Bleriots, Nieup 28, Fe 2B,
FB 5 "Gun Bus", DH 2, More Sopwiths, Caudron, Caproni biplane -and- triplane bombers, Pomilio, Bolshoi, Sikorsky's, did the Russkiy Vitiaz see service(?) and SPAD A3 just for weirdness sake.
There was a German trench strafer with
corrugated steel armor as well.

And of course the big IF's ---

Sea Planes
Ships with over-the-main-gun-turret and rear deck launch ramps!

08-31-2006, 02:10 PM
I sure hope the skinning solution is more like the one in FB than in LOMAC.

08-31-2006, 02:20 PM
Sounds....seem good

08-31-2006, 05:01 PM
Mmmm, I'll miss the 'Fokker scourge'... and strafing trenches in my Hannover, but, OK! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Note: No flyable Bristol? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

08-31-2006, 05:17 PM
Looks good! Sounds good. I'm interested!

08-31-2006, 05:55 PM
I hope they get the non-throttleable rotary engines right. The only way to control RPM for ground movements was to momentarily short the ignition.

No Macchis or Ansaldos? A pity.....

08-31-2006, 06:13 PM
Jeez, this sim isn't even out yet and people are already saying they want more planes.... Gimmie a break. We haven't had a decent WW1 flight sim since Red Baron 3D and now it looks like we are getting one and people are already complaining. Personally I couldn't care less, I'm just really happy that this team has already addressed so many issues of the community not to mention developed outstanding pits and models.

I have no doubts that KOTS will be on my PC for quite a long time, since I always enjoyed WW1 air combat better than WW2. I just hope all the people that complain that they want 'x' aircraft in the game or some other demand just sit down and enjoy this sim rather than be so negative. The updates that the Gennadich team displays every week is just amazing, and more than people deserve... yet there will always be someone to spoil it.

Lastly, to comment on the actual sound clips. Just awesome, I can just close my eyes and see the bullets flying over my head. Just an outstanding job!

08-31-2006, 06:14 PM
I already have one of the buttons on my stick reserved for blip http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hopefully the Pup will make it into the flyable lists eventually. And I do love the pushers. A Dh2 and FE2b would suit me just fine.

What complaining? That sim has a future!

And with a decent campaign engine or flexible enough DCG options it can't help but beat RB3D
to bits.

I'm looking forward to a sim with less than half the needed buttons/keys and speeds where it
takes a while to get outside view range and into dotsville.

LOL! I wonder if we'll ever get any one-or-two-off planes like IIRC Nungesser and at least
one other pilot had for a short time single 20mm before they treatied them illegal.
Hey! J/K! They did have some and they weren't that great at least according to Brittanica
volume I read from in school 1971-2. They worked at all and the results were 'barbaric'
which IMO is political code for "we can't get it right and don't want anyone else to".

08-31-2006, 08:19 PM
No way it can be complete without this.

09-01-2006, 07:10 AM
Dont forget the SPAD with 37mm cannon http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
