...can anybody recommend the best WW2 tank game to play? - I've been watching the El Guettar ambush scene from Patton and I've a craving to take the battle to the ground.

If you're meaning simulator type game i don't think you'll have much luck, i only know of one and i can't remember the name. Was'nt supposed to be too good though.
I too would like a good WW2 tank sim, if anyone
knows of one.

Panzer commander.

It was made by SSI, back in 1998.

You may be able to find it on ebay, if anyone knows of another game which is a simulator not a shoot em up i would like to know too.

Hope that helps blix.

I'm gonna take a look around - Future Shop, Best Buy, EB Games - I'll report my findings.

If you are looking to control tanks "miniatures" style I would suggest any of the combat mission series

Beyond Overlord
Barbarossa to Berlin
Afrika Korps

I haven€t tried this one but from the videos it looks like a true tank sim, but get your checkbook out€¦.
