Does anyone have an algorithm that converts longitude and latitude to the Kriegsmarine grid coordiates (or vice versa)?

Also, something that would be really neat for any modders out there, would be a utility that dumps your U-Boat's position to a text file every hour or so. That way you could generate a neat map of the patrol course after the mission for posting on the web. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Not quite what I was after, but I have found a Converter (http://web.telia.com/~u51008935/converter.html) which works pretty well. Stil... any info on the algorithm behind it?

Trydan, it shouldn't be too hard to impliment.
The Grids run in a l->R, Top -> bottom pattern and Lattitude and longitude are similar.

If all the grids are of a standard size, bingo!. there are a few funnies in the grid system, but this can be accounted for.

That proggy in the link looks like it uses a Look-up-Table (LUT) for convertions.

There is no algorithm, but there are tools to do that for you out there: Naval Grid Calculator (http://grid.nylle.de)
