View Full Version : The things you would like to see in a patch - Thread.

Hey guys! Based on your current knowledge of the game, I'm just curious what everyone would like to see in future patches of SH3? (excluding inevitable bug fixes/performance tweaks).

Here are mine to get you all started:

1) Food supply for the crew and/or morale boosters (ie: beer). As we already know milk-cow (resupply) subs will be excluded from the original release - they'll probably apear in the upcomming patches. Basic Food-resupply model could be patched at the same time.

2) Editable Captain's journal (haven't seen this mentioned anywhere).

A game that works with a 6800gt card!

03-11-2005, 07:25 PM
A game that acturately simulate WW2 German U-Boats..........wait.............we have that but I understand where you are coming from. Resupply is prolly being worked on right now

Can I be the first to say: increased resolution!

(C'mon. You knew somebody would.)

I want a ready room for the devs to communicate with us directy. That should improve further support, fixes and additions to SH3 and upcoming addons / DC sequel.

I think the re-supply feature should be the first prority, it would be nice to use as a morale booster as suggested arlier... Also I would like to see a feature in the game where you can essentially "skip" forward in realtime by retiring to your quarters and leaving the WO or XO in charge for up to 12 hours at a time... Another feature that would be nice (not sure it it's there or not) would be that at the end of the Campaign the day the war ends if you're in port and morale is high, you can get your boat to cast off and try to make a run for South America, something like at the end of SH2, but done better, just an idea though.

I'd love there to be different ways to send messages to each other during multiplayer. Perhaps radio transmissions passed via HQ (that could be intercepted by enemy AI for position), and nice would be the signaling lamps (as shown in Das Boot) when 2 U-boats meet on the surface... Although expecting the players to learn to read and send morse would be a bit much. It would be cool just to type in your multiplayer chat message and have an AI crewman send it.

Seriously - has anyone commented on communications in co-operative multiplayer? Pressing a 'chat' key during an attack on a convoy would be a bit like cheating - as if each player had a magic underwater phone.

I concur

I'd like to be able to name my crew.

Perhaps a deeper role playing aspect while inbetween patrols.

AFAIK a 6800GT fix and the resupply with milkcows will be included in the first patch.

And I think we should wait to have the game in hands and played it for some hours before starting a wish list.

The tottie onboard is a must have anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

PS: what's the hell are rusticles ??

I would like to see the multiplayer # of players increase to 32 players but maybe a server option to force players to spawn at start or all at one base of a campaign 5 or so at the uboat pens.

They should add damage repair sceens. From wat i saw from the "My Friend Has It," the crewman dont seem to take notice of the jet of water coming from the ceiling. If u take damge u should be able to see crewman shutting it.

"Ya ever get that feelin that yer bein watched?"
Some kind of expression of urgency.
And from the videos I've seen a lil more urgency needed fer a speech pack/mod.
But this a patch thread right? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Are the updates going to become available in the form of patches (ie: SHII) that you download or is the UBIsoft dev team going to release an "expansion pack" that we have to buy... like Dynamix did w/ AOD where they gave us the Type XXI and the option to enter the Med among other things...??? i would not be too opposed to buying an expansion pack if they put some really cool add-ons in there, plus maybe some bug fixes or fix the issue w/ the NVIDIA cards.

03-12-2005, 09:24 AM
This is ridiculous, the game isn't even out yet and you guys are starting a patch thread....

03-12-2005, 01:06 PM
The Dev's already have their patch list put together. They've said so.

03-12-2005, 10:23 PM
Also it would be great in an upcoming patch/expansion to be able to enter the Torpedo- an Engine-rooms. Just to see the amount of damage and be able to look at the diesels running.<-My favorite part of Das Boot. (Yes, i´m a engineer http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif)

I would rather see no crewmen in the compartment at all, when there is a bad leak, than some mope standing there like it doesn't exist. Jeez.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

The ablity to to command a K class sub.
Steam driven, dive time 4 minutes and accident prone what more could a Ubout commander want? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
and yes I know the K class served with the RN.
