I wasn't sure how often eveyone checks out the threads in Community Help, so I thought I might post over here, too.
Thanks to Diegg777, Capt. Cotton, and Urufu Shinjuru for their advice, especially the link to Crucial Computers. I just thought there might be some more good advice out here and maybe even some one that has a system similar to mine and had the same problems I am having.

Thanks, Beebop.
I have looked at your link on several occasions, and there's some really good advice there. My main problem is I really know very little about how computers work, and trying to decide how to up-grade mine is quite an adventure. I finally got PF in the mail today, but after the problems I had with AEP last week, I think I'm going to wait to install it until I at least get some more RAM put in. Today I've been discussing my options with a fellow from Crucial. That's helping a lot.
Oddball, I'm not really in the market for another computer at this time. My wife had surgery done last week and we've got some healthy bills from the hospital to pay before I spend too much. I do appreciate the offer, though.

Follow the advice and links you've already checked. There are many ways w/XP to cut down on system resources. If you haven't already also check out Vipers site:

and also check this thread on hidden XP features that might have some helps:

I hope this helps you out some.

Oddball, thanks. I checked my PM's but am having trouble getting the 'edit avatar' function to work.
