Thank you TT.

My Grandmother and parents are set, but my sister and aunt farther south near Lake Charles are heading out. My Aunt is planning on visiting me if she leaves. Storm is tracking a bit more east, so as long as she thinks the lights will stay on, she's going to stay put.

We're praying for all the folks on the road and in the path.

Gustav is looking like it's going to hit Baton Rouge the same way Andrew did and I was without power for 7 freakin' days that time around. It sucked BAD.

My family and I are now spread out around Houston now but I've got friends in BTR. It's good to know that there are good people in the country wishing for the best. If you're so inclined and your world view is such, feel free to send some prayers that way. I will.

Yet another reason I don't want to live south of the Ohio River. My dad moved to Lakeland, Florida a few years back. He had been joking with me about not having to put up with cold winters anymore before leaving. The day they arrived in town was immediately after a hurricane had gone through. As I told him on the phone the next day "I'll bet that snow looks pretty good right now, doesn't it?"

Seriously, I hope everyone makes out OK from this storm.

I got back last night from helping my dad board up his bay house on the east side of Galveston Bay. Looks like he's gonna stay dry.

Out of the 8 homes next to my home, 5 of them have transplanted Cajuns. Some are full up with their relatives right now waiting on the storm to pass their homes in Louisiana.

My wife's family is sticking it out in Baton Rouge. I do wonder about some of my old roommates from 10 years ago, their families are still in Houma.

I hope all goes as well as it can for the people of Louisiana.

It is looking good and is reduced to a stage one cat now...........

Trouble is you can't do this every summer, it's got to be decimating the local economy upping sticks and moving out the population every time a storm arrives....... And with global warming it is just not going to get any better..
