Ok so we know ACII is in Italy and the most famous Italian city of all time is Rome. So it makes sense it would be included in the game. One of the most famous things about rome is their colosseum. So do you think we could see an arena system where you compete for money/equipment. Maybe to enter your notoriety has to be below a certain level?(or something like that) Anyway what do you guys think? Possible or not?

I don't think the colosseum was used for that kind of activity in the Renneisancce(spelling?), but it would be cool to have a massive battle there towards the end of the game (like Arsuf in AC1).

By the way, welcome to the forums.

Oh by the way. before people say Rome isn't in the game i saw an interview with Patrice where he said it was a maybe. Forgot which video, sorry.

u mean like oblivion right lol? The Romans stopped the colliseum fighting before Ezio's time since the Church basically took over and said it was awful, so I'm shootin for a no

Yeah, if Rome is in the game but we can't explore the Colosseum, I'll be ****ed. The only other time I got to explore the Colloseum was in Tomb Raider, and that was 10 years ago (TR V)

Maybe we will go in it, but almost certainly wont fight in it, as like someone said, there weren't fights in the colisseum since long before Ezio.

by the time Ezio was born. The colloseum was already a ruin. The Popes took al the stone out of it for there own buildings. They thought the colloseum was barbarian. Just like the Pantheon there were a lot of statues of the Myhtological gods but the pope destroyed them and changed it into a christian church

Finally someone who has learned something from the history lessons on school... Like d1sturbedme and Shark said, the colloseum was a ruin in the 15th century and we can conclude that there won't be a fighting system or anything else like that in the colleseum IF Rome is in the game.

(I personally doubt it but because they only mention Tuscany, Florence and Venice... But in the first interview in "Games Informer" about Assassin's Creed they mentioned that they took pictures in Rome so it's possible and plausible that Rome will be in the game)

I know that the Colosseum was in ruin by then, but it'd still be fun to explore! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Thank you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif and at thekyle, no it hadn't collapsed, that was a joke right, people still go in there today. So I'm guessing we can go inside it and explore, but no organized fighting

Um, no. It wasn't a joke. the floor really did collapse at some point. The floor is where the events would take place. Underneath it there was a maze of corridors where they kept animals, combatants, weapons, armor, etc. At some point the floor gave in and exposed these corridors which can be seen today.

Also, how did it collapse? Was it because of <STRIKE>Templars</STRIKE> an earthquake? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

EmperorxZurg

O, then they must have replaced the floor at some point, now I must use my nerd powers and figure out this problem... to Google and AskYahoo! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

thekyle0

It's not replaced. All they put in was an observation platform so people could see the corridors.

ah ok, I got it now, the original ground level floor is mostly gone and people usually go to the surrounding ampitheatre levels, and yes it was collapsed by that time by an earthquake, and no I didn't get this from Wikipedia I found my old text book

thekyle0

Right, I actually just read some tourism websites and found out that an earthquake collapsed the entire southern wall. It was probably the same one that took out the floor because the article said that the rubble fell into the center of the colliseum. Now I want to know if it was cleared of rubble yet or if the ubi will spare that detail to let us explore it.

EmperorxZurg
08-09-2009, 06:40 PM
ya it was cleared and put into churches and buildings surrounding it, so there will probably just be a gaping hole in the floor lol

actually i was thinking like a kingdom hearts/ oblivion mix. but doesnt look like it will be in the game so oh well

Maybe they can at an arcade mode in the game were they take the collosseum as an arena. And you need to fight gladiators and tigers and you cant climb out of it. And every level you come further the more gladiators there come and the harder it will be. Just like the Nazi zombies in COD WAW.
only then without the zombies, and the haunted hause, and the guns Lol http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

It won't happen.
