Well,
I'm not sure it is still worth reporting bugs but...

Try this,
Place a russian G-5 torpedo boat on the map and start circling around it at 2-3km altitude, You'll be surprised to see tracers around you, and even feel hits at your aircraft.
Well this is not correct since G-5 torpedo boat is armed with two 12,7mm DShK machine guns. Their effective range is about 800-1000meters. Now they hit me at 3000.

Even more than that. The same boats killes my Daimler Benz at 5000m... And in another situation I saw them firing up, I was at 5000m that time. The tracers were approx same long above and below the horizontal plane. That makes 10km range for those 12,7mms... Just silly. Also have similar experience with 12,7mm MGs mounted on tanks...

Because those guns are related to UBS-MGs.. bullets wont loose speed even after 2000 meters /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

also "effective range" is not the range which bullet can reach... it is the distance at which a fairly accurate shot can be fired at the target.

Most good rifles have effective ranges of about 1km... some snipers probably 2km maybe even more. But the total range is way beyond that... way more than 3km.

In the Mission Builder forum I posted a fairly comprehensive table of FB's ships' guns range gathered after extensive testing. I outlined the basis of the test and was surprised at some of the data. In my opinion, the issue of ships still has not been adequately addressed. Anti-shipping actions were improved somewhat with 1.1b, but fall far short of the early IL-2 version where ships could suffer damage by strafing and could be padlocked as any other surface target. If there is any thought to an addon related to the PTO, this would most definitely need to be ironed out.

Yes I agree. Also those 12.7's do seem to have fantastic range

Example, the German 20mm guns had an effective range of ~1100m while the 37mm had an effective range of 1600m.

anyone know the muzzzle velocity in m/s? it should lose 10m/s per second roughly so to reach 3000m and stop it would have to travel at approx 244.9489742783178098197284074705 m/s according to my calculations though it has been over a year since i studied physics
