crazy..as we more or less all are in III/JG53 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Since (i think) nearly 2 years now when Bazi joined our JG i am amazed about his skills and enthusiasm in building that homecockpit.

As far as i know everything is made from scratch (even the instruments which he wants to get to work somehow) and i am really curious about how the pit will look like when it´s finished.

Such an ammount of money and time to build such a brilliant thing - and then a crappy CRT-monitor... is it even 19"?

yeah I think that your cockpit and all that time and skills and effort that you have put in it are much much better

Errmm, you probably couldn´t translate it: The monitor is just a interim solution, he wants to have a beamer in it when everything is finished...

So, the one burning question in all our minds must be answered...does the windscreen frame (aka "the bar") obscure the gunsight view or not?

I'm guessing he would fly on "wonder woman" view? That's the ony logical way since it would be silly to have two instrument panels.

Someone once posted a pic with 9? monitors connected to one pc. In each monitor you got a different view. Imagine building a similar cockpit but without a canopy, surrounded by monitors. That would be awesome. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

This guy has done a great job though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

you know... i have a movie projector that i use to play sometimes IL2, LOMAC and stuff like Quake4. i play these games at high resolution,
High definition on a 9 foot wall.

the projector costme 2,500 dollars.

if you put the projector up on the ceiling so your pit doesnt obstruct the projection, and maybe build a concave projection screen that you can wrap your self more in to the projected picture... and get a bottle of whiskey..and...

Just take a look at your hands then. It´s tools like those that built it.

13 monitors, and they were connected to 7 PC's with another two PC's running the instrument arrays scattered around below the monitors. It was a FS2K or FS2K2 setup.

i am not implying that the tools make the project. i work wood with traditional hand tools because i hate the noise of power tools. everyone has different interests. thats why i asked about the tools: to find out more about the builder.
