View Full Version : 1946 and Windows Vista

Howdy folks,

I'm a noob here (very first post) but I have being flying Flight Sims for a long time (since the old days of LucasArts Battle of Britain and Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe - ouch) and I must say: Oleg and gang: thank you very much. This is the sim that will never leave my HDD http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

Anyway, this is just a small post to help people (I hope). I run Windows Vista in my box (long story) and when I tried to install 1946 I couldn't. My workaround was to call a.exe to do the setup. It worked like a charm. And so far so good http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Things look fine flying with Vista http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyway, since I know very few people will have Vista right now and some of you will get it in the future, there goes a head up http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I should go look for all my old games (i still have them someplace in a box) and see if i can get them to work now... it may be a real hoot to see what we had.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Chuck Yeagers's air combat was the first combat fight sim I realised that looking up throught the top of the canopy in a turning fight was a good way to keep track of my opponent! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Well, I guess one more word of warning for Vista users...

If you want to edit the conf.ini, you have to open notepad by using the run as administrator command, and then open the file from within notepad. Otherwise, the file will not be editable.
