Well some of you posted and bought (?) it...

The first negative feedback (yes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif on the x800) is in.

If it looks like a scam (7 buys - recipy related - like $0,35 a piece, and then 3 x800 for about $210,- and some other hi-tech stuff on buy-direct/pay-direct)

well

It probably IS a scam...

- I hope you guys are insured...

yes, same here - I hope they bought insured.

And if it's a scam that they complaint to ebay etc. and file charges with the police...

But like you said - it did look too good to be true - and then the recipy buys to get feedback... hmmm

It really WAS too good to be true http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

People have to be very cautious with internet auctions. As good as they are, they really offer a platform for a lot of people, who think they can earn a fortune for just nothing. When I thought about upgrading, I followed an offer about a x800 - a really good offer, starting at 1 Euro. Unfortunately, there was only a small line after all the technical data, information about the gfx-card and other things, that the bidding was only for the *BOX* of the card. The offers quickly went above 300 euros! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Pretty sorry indeed. This kind of stuff sickens me.

I bought my 9800XT off Ebay. It was the only way to acquire a 'Built By ATI' part in the UK short of importing one.

I did my research though, and the guy had a good and diverse track record for selling nVidia and ATI cards.

Ebay is good, but the application of commonsense and research is a must (no dis-respect intended for those that got 'burnt').
