I downloaded the stand-alone version of PF from the website using the Boonty Box thing that was also downloaded.

The program seems to run fine, but the version is listed as 3.04. I downloaded all the patches for the stand-alone version and put them on a disk. Today, I installed the patches.

I first installed the 4.01 patch, then re-started my PC, installed the 4.02 patch, re-started, etc. etc.

Everything seemed to go well. When I start the game, it still says "Version 3.04" Does this mean my patches did not install properly?

I'm also curious as to why there isn't a printable list of keyboard commands for the game. This would obviously be a valuable reference for those with simpler joysticks AND for those to use as a reference when programming complex controllers (my new X52, for example.) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Take it easy,

I was careful to download the correct patches for the stand-alone version. I let the patch installer select the directory.

I just did a little exploring and found I have two folders named Pacific Fighters on my machine:
One complete-looking set of files in Program Files/Boonty Box and a smaller but similar-looking set of files in Program Files/Ubisoft.

I reinstalled the patches again, putting them in the Boonty Box PF file and it was successful.

I wonder how I ended up with 170MB worth of PF files in a seperate Ubisoft file? Think I should delete it? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

Thanks for your help,

I think the smaller file is just from the patch content going to the wrong location the first time.

Ubisoft/Pacific Fighters is the default location of the game when you install from the CD-ROM. The patches are designed to support that default location. That's how you got the new UbiSoft/Pacific Fighters folder with 170Mb of updated PF files. You can delete it.

Your download version had a different default location than the original CD version. You've now resolved the patch problem by designating the correct location. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I mapped my keyboard controls so they're easier to remember, and added user- defined commands</A>

You can delete it.

It's gone... and everything still works! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
