View Full Version : Problem installing AEP 2.04 patch

07-08-2006, 05:22 AM

I've just recently purchesed AEP and am having difficulties installing the 2.04 patch. I downloaded both patches from fileplanet. I've installed the 2.01 patch and know that you need to install the 2.04 patch over the previous version. However, winzip stops when it gets to fb_3do08.SFS, it can't extract it. There is an error message saying 'can't create output file' and it lists the directory. I had no problems installing the previous patch and the filepath is correct.

I'm new to these forums so apologies if this issue has already been covered before. Thanks for any assistance in advance.

I'm not quite sure what the patch order is if you don't have Pacific Fighters, but after installing Forgotten Battles and the Ace Expansion Pack, what version are you at?

Also, I would try getting the patch from 3dgamers (most likeley you recieved a bad file).

Yeah, it does sound like a bad patch file, although I have had occasional glitches like that with the built-in WinXP zip support.

Oilburner, FB+AEP gets you v2.0, then there are two patches for that, 2.01 and 2.04

I downloaded it again from 3dgamers and I'm still having the same problem.

I installed FB then the 1.22 patch, then AEP and then the 2.01 patch. Is it a problem with winzip?

I also used winrar to extract the files and it said the files.sfs could not be created because it was being used by another process.

Jake try these links
delete the old downloaded zip files and download again, you just need to install over the other one

...and you can skip the 1.22 patch. If you're installing AEP, it's not necessary to patch FB first.

Thanks for all your help guys. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I was just wondering if you new of any other places where you can download some missions, as I have already downloaded most of the missions from the pacific fighters official website. Any Battle of Britain style missions would be most appriacted!
